I recently went for a vacation with family to Malaysia and Bali. I was travelling with my 80 yrs old mother. Considering a long walk in the airport, i requested a wheel chair for my Mother during the time of ticket booking and it was confirmed. However, Malindo air staff at the KL airport counter denied to provide a chair without paying $35. I felt bad learning that they don't care and respect senior or disable citizen.
On the way back to Kathmandu from Kuala Lumpur, I saw flight attendants were yelling at the passengers to switch off the phone, while it was still a boarding time. I didn't understand why they were angry and thus asked to an attendant.
She said “ It is not for you…these Nepalese passengers are rubbish, and dont' listen what we say”, she might thought I was not Nepali.
I felt sad for what she said and hurt knowing about their perception against Nepalese national.
It was obvious that around 90% of passengers boarding that flight were Nepalese and majority of them were migrant workers returning home from Malaysia, who do not understand English. So, instead of communicating in a polite way to help them understand, yelling at passenger with prejudiced mind is rude and discriminatory.
Regardless of their nationalities, all the passengers are customers and should be treated equally.
