My wife and I went to the Alexandra on a fairly last minute trip. We looked around Provo and the Alexandra seemed to be the most reasonably priced place that still looked nice and was on the beach. We had a 1BR suite. And they say that the bed in the room is queen size... NO WAY. It was definitely full size so be aware of that! The resort itself was pretty nice, check in/out was a breeze and they even gave you a rum punch while you wait!

People complained about the Mango Reef, but we actually thought they had pretty good food and drinks. Interestingly, the front desk seemed to talk you out of going to some places that were pretty well reviewed on trip advisor. For instance, we wanted a quick low key lunch and had read about Jimmy's and the staff said it wasn't very good, same thing with Pizza Pizza. We did end up going to both places just to have something different and both were just fine.

Anyway, the room itself was nicely laid out, the full kitchen was truly a full kitchen, the rooms were clean and up to date. They have a daily trip to the grocery store that leaves from the resort and it costs $20/couple. We got stuff to make for breakfast and also some snacks, beer, wine, etc. Prices around Provo were really not that bad when you compare them to places like Cayman or Aruba. The Alexandra does have many restaurants within walking distance but getting a cab for dinner was not that difficult and whatever restaurant you were at will call you a can for the ride home.

The pool area was nice as was the beach. They have guys that will set up chairs and umbrellas for you. You could take a kayak out in the ocean for free. All in all, for the price, it was pretty good. We had an ocean view and like others have mentioned, that does not mean ocean front, but our view was pretty nice nonetheless. One note though, if you want to see the sunset from you room, you will definitely need ocean front versus ocean view.

Room Tip: In order to see the sunset, you need OCEAN FRONT

The rum punch on arrival lets you know that this is a friendly place to stay! Beautifully landscaped grounds, great swimming pool and one of the biggest beach fronts around. Al the concierge can get you anything and works hard to do it (reservation at coco bistro). Loved having a kitchenette to enjoy my morning coffee overlooking the pool and ocean (The Marilyn building). Having eaten at Mango reef (onsite) 4x, this is one of the best places to stay in Provo. There is just too much to say about The Alexandra! A great location too! Place is immaculate and there is nightly turn down, we will be back!

Stayed 6 days - March 1 - March 7 and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll spare you a long winded essay and simply give you the bullet points.

About us - 31 and 27 year old couple from New York City. Good mix on the resort of young and old....some kids, but not enough to be a nuissance.

- People - Greeted well and offered rum punch. Everyone on the resort was super nice, always saying hello, and answered questions. The beach attendant that takes drink orders especially! Concierge will book you excursions, saving you the trouble.

- Property - Very pretty...everything in tip top shape. Pool is very nice (though we didn't use it).

- Room - Room 4502 was 5th floor in Marilyn building with a full ocean view and sprawling view of the entire property - it was perfect! Ask for a top floor. Beach was super comfy, got great nights sleep. Kitchenette was great for simple breakfast, though bear in mind there is no burner/stove in the studio rooms. Flat screen TV - out door deck were nice too.

Food - Mango Reef is fantastic! We ate there probably 7 times and were never dissapointed. Menu is big so even veggies are accomodated. Tables are virtually on the beach so you have great sunset views and ocean breeze...even live music some nights.

Beach - heart of Grace Bay, need I say more? Never an issue with getting chairs with umbrellas...regardless of when we came down. Drinks are taken on the beach or the bar is right there. They have floating stuff, masks, kayaks, etc for use for free. Caicos Dream Tours is right there too so you can book trips easily.

Overall - This place is priced great, especially for everything you receive. If I had the money, I would even think about buying a condo here. Not one bad thing to say. STAY HERE!

--One thing I wish they had was a conveniece type store on property. Though they arrange every day for trips to the supermarket (pricey!).

Room Tip: 5th floor Marilyn - Room 4502 was perfect

Best believe it was gorgeous and all we could have wished for. Wonderful friendly staff, very accommodating. I miss you Grace Bay! Love, Anne~

Room Tip: Pay a little more for a beachfront not beach side room, you are worth it and the hotels next door are twice as much!
