Let me first say that I am only writing this review because the owner Bozena asked me if I would.
I really do not want to tell you about Casa Rondini because it is such a beautiful place and so special for me and my family that I don't want to share it.
It is without doubt my favourite place to holiday in the world.
I love every single thing about it. The accommodation, the food, the surroundings, the owners. EVERYTHING!!
If you want a peaceful place to lay and relax and let the world pass you by then Casa Rondini is the place.
If you want a base to stay and visit local places such as Perugia, Orvieto etc then this is the place.
For me and my family this is THE place.
You will not eat better food than Franco cooks. You will not find better hosts than Franco and Bozena. You will not find a more relaxing place to stay, Anywhere.
It is a slice of heaven.
There is one downside to Casa Rondini though and that's the fact that you cant stay there forever.

I actually considered not writing a review of the Casa Rondini as we loved it so much and we want to be able to afford to come back next trip to Europe, but to be fair to Franco and Bozena I thought better of it.
Just great, and believe every word that other reviewers have said. FI pizza night was Sunday, pasta Tuesday and saffron Thursdays. After the pasta night the first purchase when we get home will be the pasta machine. I didn't realise it was so simple and fresh pasta was so great.
Thanks Bozena and Franco for a fabulous week and hopefully we will return in two years.

From booking to leaving (today), our stay has been incredible. Franco and Bozena are the perfect hosts. They even helped me organize a courier pickup on a parcel that went astray. Pasta night (Tuesdays) is a must an offers guests the ability to learn how to make and eat a variety of delicious pastas complete with local wine, grappa, limocella and sumptuous desserts. Unfortunately we won't be here for saffron night (Thursdays) which I hear from guests is just as fabulous. If you are looking for a place to relax, soak in the local culture and flavours in a very comfortable setting with great apartments, Casa Rondini is the place... Also a great setting for kids with the chickens, donkey and large swimming pool.

This friendly family run farm is a real find in the heart of Umbria, half an hour by car from Perugia. The owners have achieved the perfect balance of making you feel that you are completely independent but are also available to give you all the information that you need to enjoy the “real Italy .“ The standard of accommodation is excellent with everything provided and thought about, our apartment had both a dishwasher and a washing machine for our sole use .It was very clean and well presented.
The luxury of having abundant tomatoes and vegetables picked from the farm and the opportunity for the children to pick your own was a great excitement. Delicious olive oil, wine and homemade produce was also available from for a few euros. The cooking activities had attracted us to Casa Rondini on the website and they were not a disappointment, in fact they were one of the highlights that the children are still talking about!
There is plenty to visit in the surrounding areas from traditional Italian hill top villages, the historic towns of Assisi and Orvieto . On return a cool dip was always welcome in the refreshing pool. The children also enjoyed the waterfalls, water sports on Lago Trasimento and visiting the well-known chocolate factory (home of Baci). There is something for everyone.

From the moment my husband, adult son, and I arrived at Casa Rondini, we knew we picked a place of tranquil beauty for our first visit to Italy. The villa, with four flats, situated amongst groves of olive trees overlooking endless mountain vistas (and an inviting infinity pool for cooling down on hot summer days), is a charming home base from which to take day excursions to Umbrian and Tuscan hill towns. The family who run Casa Rondini, headed by Bozena and Franco, are always on site to make sure your needs are met. The two of them work very hard at making their lovely farm an authentic “agriturismo” experience. Helping yourself to the fresh organic produce in the garden and supplementing the vegetables with items for purchase from their cantina, which include daily fresh eggs, homemade jams, sauces, pasta, olive oil, red and white wines, and the most luscious homemade Limoncello make the experience all the more convenient and enjoyable.
The highlight of Casa Rondini are the three times-a-week outdoor kitchen family meals. Franco, the excellent head chef, guides you through make-your-own pizza night, while the always-helpful and charming, Bozena and her children teach you how to make your own pasta on pasta night. Ultimately the pasta you make will be served to you along with Franco’s finishing touch sauces. The third themed meal is a unique learning experience in how to use their home grown saffron to flavor many dishes. All of these meal nights are informal and include wine and dessert and are wonderful opportunities for communal fun with your fellow travelers from many different countries, all enjoying the evening under an arbor of grapevines and the night stars.
There are numerous near-by restaurants for you to enjoy as well as a grocery store where you can stock up on provisions to make your own meals in the fully-equipped flat kitchen. (If you’re American and used to shops always being open all-day, every day, this is not the case in most of Europe, so check ahead with CasaRondini to coordinate your arrival with the ability to purchase groceries—they will help you). There is also a nearby train station from which we easily travelled to Rome and Florence. We feel as though we’ve made life-long friends with Franco and Bozena and would highly recommend Casa Rondini for a most memorable Italian holiday.
