Whilst Gwel an Mor is a Holiday Resort they do have a restaurant that is open to non-residents and this review concerns that.
I have visited at lunchtime and enjoyed one of their wraps, which are extremely tasty and very filling. My recommendation would be to go for several different choices, as they come cut in two (they are large wraps), and then swap one half of the wrap, because it is so difficult to decide which ones to have!
Recently however I visited the restaurant to celebrate a 50th Birthday and it was the perfect location. The service and food was excellent. There is a wide choice of main courses from Pizzas, to home made Burgers, to Pasta dishes, Steak and Specials, to mention but a few. I had a Crab, Prawn and Smoked Salmon starter and Sea Bass for the main course. It was delicious, and amongst our party of 12 everyone was full of praise for their individual choices.
I would highly recommend visiting here, I cannot wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.

For the past 3 years, myself and my fiance have been to the Gwel an Mor resort and it's fair to say we have fallen in love with it and everything it has to offer! Last year we even got engaged at the resort whilst on a relaxing break for my 30th birthday.

The resort itself offers a quality, relaxed environment that we strongly believe most people will love. From the moment you arrive, to when you depart, the staff on site do their utmost to make your stay memorable starting with a member of the team who takes you to your lodge where you will find a welcome chocolate on your pillow (a nice touch!). The lodges themselves are lovely - a real home from home but with a dash of extravagance! The log burners and hot tubs (in the VIP lodges) make your stay one to remember.

The surrounding area is well worth exploring too. We have taken walks down to the beach, which itself is beautiful both in summer and winter. Also, in Portreath there is the best bakery with the best Cornish pasties - a must when you go. Last year we took part in the nature tour which was fantastic and which ends with the chance to feed their tame fox - again, a unique experience. This year we found that the Chinese restaurant in Portreath is also a gem and I'm sure we'll be getting take away from them when we next visit!

Gwel an Mor is constantly being improved which means each trip is unique. We are looking forward to our next stay when we plan to make good use of the new tennis courts.

If you want a relaxing trip that you can easily tailor to your own desire, Gwel an Mor is the one. I have no doubt we will be regulars for the years to come!

Room Tip: The VIP lodges offer an extra splash of extravagance.

We enjoyed a four day break over New Year with two 7 year olds and one 5 year old. The accomodation was fantastic with tasteful modern decor, a very well equiped kitchen, wifi, log burner and a hot tub.

The staff could not have been more accomodating and friendly. The Terrace Restaurant offers a high level of service with good food at a reasonable price.

There is a farm on site which is looked after by Gary who offers fantastic nature walks and meet the animals sessions. The children really enjoyed Gary's informative and fasinating insight into the local flaura and fauna before holding a grass snake, having an owl land on their arms and then meeting the foxes.

Another highlight was a visit to Cam Brea Castle for lunch which is run by Mr Mounir who will regale you over your meal with stories of Jordan, a misspent youth wooing local Cornish lasses (or one in particular) and allude to royal connections (to the crown prince of Jordan, no less); and then there is the food. The food is a culinary culmination of spicy Middle Eastern cuisine and rich English dishes that are all prepared from scratch in the ancient but fully functional kitchen.

Room Tip: The VIP lodges with their own hot tub and log burner are fantastic.
