The beds were old and soft. Our room was freezing. They were generous enough to have a small electric heater place in the room. BUT there was only one plug-in. So only one of us could charge our phone!

Flies everywhere! Especially in the bathrooms.

Overpriced. We paid $55 each! So this was a $110 room. Crazy! I was expecting way more for that price. Luckily Rally of the Tall Pines paid for half. And breakfast was $12 for 2 eggs, bacon (which they ran out of), and toast. Twelve dollars! Oh, and I got a hair in my eggs too. We went to a higher-end restaurant our second morning and paid $6.

Go in expecting a 2 star hostel otherwise you will be disappointed. This ain't no 4 star lodge. Go stay in an Airbnb for half the price and make your own breakfast. You could buy everything organic and still save money.

Some positive notes: The owner was very nice and was able to serve breakfast in a timely manner. Towels were replaced promptly. Bathrooms were fairly clean other than the flies of course.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the lodge. Cabins may be better. Bring a power bar.

Couple of things about this review. The rates were set by this guests own club. The facility was rented to that organization and they sold the rooms to their members. We got paid only a fraction of the rate mentioned here. We need to negotiate a better deal.
One outlet? Not to sound facetious, until 2007 there were no outlets in the rooms. This is a 130 year old building that was obviously built before the days of electricity. Add to that it is a plank wall building (not studs) and wiring is next to impossible. In 2007 with much hard work and some ingenuity, we managed to get one outlet in each room No mention of the wifi? We have fiber to the premises and offer true 100Mbit wifi. Better than most downtown Toronto hotels, and the ONLY accommodator north of the 401 in this area to do so.
Winter flies are a problem in the late fall and early spring. All of the rooms were thoroughly vacuumed the day before this group arrived. Given the current attitude about chemicals, flies are vacuumed but no insecticides are used.
Food...there is no excuse for a hair in any food served. That was a total failure of our operational standards. No excuse for it and we will review the process before this event is hosted in 2017. The price of food? We do NOT sell food 363 days a year. Breakfast was made available at 5AM as this organization has requested it. The price is set to break even. We would much prefer to not serve this breakfast but do it at the request of this organization.
PKF consulting recommends 3% of gross be spent on renewal of hotel linens, bedding, etc. We surpass that spending each year. 2 rooms of beds were replaced last week as part of the 2017 updates.

I just hosted 24 30ish year old guys for a bachelor party at the lodge. The small cabins were great, and the extra guests were able to overflow into the hotel style main lodge. Everyone there is very laid back, and even with 24 yahoos up there we didn't run into any problems etc. Once you have enough of the space booked George will pretty much let you do whatever you want within reason.

The waterfront isn't great for swimming, but we brought floaters and managed to crowd the already busy boat launch taking a dip in the hot afternoon sun. (The boat launch is very busy, and the cars coming in the morning to drop off boats can get noisy if you are camping in the sites by the lake.)

The view is amazing, accommodations aren't posh, but certainly adequate for what we needed.

I would recommend this place to anyone trying to host a "guy's getaway" or bachelor party.

Room Tip: The cabins have two queen beds, so unless you're doubling up the cabins sleep two dudes.

This is not the first time, but the most recent in awhile I've had the pleasure to return here. This time I took my now latter aged teenage son and we rented a cabin for a few days. The cabin was rustic but very well appointed with a/c, full kitchen, dining, 2 bedrooms, and bath. Exceptionally clean! (This coming from a hotel manager of 38 years.) The whole place is absolutely perfect if you are wanting to get away from the pressures of today's world and step off for a time and reflect on the natural beauty of southern Ontario. The proprietor George, is a wealth of information and a truly genuine host as is everyone we met at this wonderful lodge. The lake itself is clean and this fishing wasn't bad either. If you are looking for a get-away I can't say enough here about how great Limerick Lake Lodge is, but I do very highly recommend you experience it for yourself! A+++++

Room Tip: The cabins are rustic but excellent

Stayed here this past weekend while working at Rally of the Tall Pines. The location was one of the places the event paid for if you worked.
It was a nice little place! Beautiful scenery. Dated, but comfortable. My only complaints were the bed in room one seemed a little slanty, and the women's shower head was pretty bad! Other than that, I cannot complain. :)

Thanks for the feedback on the bed and the shower. To be honest, the entire 130 year old building slants in various directions, but we do our best to keep it safe and comfortable. These 2 issues will be addressed promptly. Tall Pines guests are among our favorites each year and we do our best to meet your needs.

We stayed in the lodge this past weekend and I have nothing but praise for both the owner and facility. George was a most gracious host and has a wealth of information about the area, which he shared gladly. We opted to have our breakfasts provided. I'm sure the host of the food show You Gotta Eat Here would agree with my assessment. The food was most enjoyable, nutritious and the quantity held us until lunch, and we weren't sitting about! We were there on a rock hounding field trip with other club members. As a group, we opted to have a dinner and I believe it equalled our breakfast experience. There is plenty of room to sit about and chat after a shared meal and no pressure to move on. The lodge is located on a beautiful lake and wildlife was plentiful. We saw turkeys several times during our stay. The 17 poults ( baby turkeys) were entertaining and visited, while under adult turkey supervision, each morning and evening while we were there. We also had a Mama deer and her fawn appear on the front lawn for a visit one morning. The lodge itself was comfortable and we had a room overlooking the lake. The sunrise was beautiful to see at first waking. There are also numerous opportunities for activity, such as pool and ping pong and fishing from the dock, as well as a TV and computer. It was a wonderful time away and we will definitely return.
