“Overnight stay after flying into Manchester”

This is a very nice hotel, on the outskirts of Old Trafford and only about 10 minutes drive from the airport. Set in the grounds of old Trafford Cricket Club and with rooms having views into the staidum, it is very reasonably priced and breakfast is basic but nice and as much as you like. Although food is not served on a night time - the hotel offers a range of menus from local takeaways, and provide dishes and cutlery to allow you to enjoy your meal. It will be so tempting to stay at this hotel in the future rather than pay the expensive costs of staying on terminal at the airport.

We booked an executive room on a Friday night. The room overlooked the cricket pitch and being an unseasonably warm day in March, we enjoyed a drink on the balcony looking out on to the pitch.
The hotel has everything you need for a short stopover. Room was comfortable & clean with iron, ironing board, tea & coffee making facilities and the continental breakfast (included in the price) was more than adequate.
We paid far less for this room than other hotels in the area and would definitely book here again when next visiting Manchester as it is conveniently located for the trams to the centre.

Room Tip: Worth paying a few pounds more for the executive room with the balcony overlooking the pitch.

I stayed here for a couple of nights last Aug'11. In one word it is a dream for any sportlover. Right inside the Old Trafford cricket ground with a balcony view just beside the pavillion and over the long on for a right handed batsman, and in a 5 minutes walking distance from Manchester United's Home ground at the Theatre of Dreams, there cannot be any better location for someone who is a sports fanatic. A great breakfast also helps. But the view standing on the balcony is worth a million pound !!! Definitely I would stay here whenever I am in Manchester.

I went to stay at The Old Trafford Lodge because I was attending the X Factor auditions at Manchester United's football ground. If you're a fan of the team and need somewhere to stay after a match, there's no better place than The Old Trafford Lodge. It is a 7-10 minute walk from the ground down a straight road and you're there! The hotel is very modern and beautifully designed. (It's also perfect if you're going to a cricket match as the hotel offers rooms with balconies over looking the cricket field).
Upon arrival we were greeting with friendly and helpful reception staff who knew their job well. They were all polite and eager to please. (They let us borrow forks for our take away and even phoned our room when the takeaway arrived at reception!). We then went up to our room which has access via stairs or lift. The room was a twin and was exceptionally clean and tidy. The bathroom was small but more than enough for anyones requirements.
We had continental breakfast on both mornings we stayed and the hotel provide a very wide choice of options ranging from toast and cereal to croissant, pain au chocolat and fruit. The coffee is excellent too!
Overall I could pick no faults with the hotel. It was a pleasant stay and I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Room Tip: If you're travelling to attend a cricket match, upgrade to an Executive room as these are the on...
