I bought the snorkeling+hotel package offered by this resort at the Thailand Travel event which was quite a good package though. The service at this hotel is fine. The food is quite good though especially seafoods. We stayed at the deluxe room type so the room is OK. The water flow in the bathroom is quite slow and the room is quite clean enough.
We loved the hotel restaurant's view since you can sit and relax watching the sunset.

Whilst this hotel has a good location as in the sense it's right on the beach it's on a beach that is rife with long tails and speedboats! It's only really safe to go in the water and either end of this beach. Anyway back to the hotel itself! Where do I start........ The room whilst small was still an ok size for 2 persons as was the bed. The room had (hopefully) seen better days. The bathroom (with only cold water in the shower) was dirty and moldy even all over the back of the door and the cleaners hadn't bothered to wipe down the tiles where the previous guests had squashed Mosquitos on the them and the loo I am almost lost for words, it was black and brown and needed replacing, i think due to years if not months of never being cleaned properly it just gave up and started to absorb the filth. The wardrobe ( I use this term lightly) was to say the least tiny, it had no shelf and only 3 hangers, there are no draws in the room and no where else to put clothes so be prepared to live out of your sack or case. The curtains were old dirty and hanging down with only 4 paper clips to hold them up, which constantly fell down every time you needed to open or close them or the window. This hotel is very overpriced for what it offers just a little attention to these points and it would have been a bargain. Saying all this we were in the standard (as hotel full) so maybe they look after the more expensive rooms better.

1) Reception: they were very rude when i asked for something
2) Room: Rough, The toilet is not clean and with some "unwelcome guests" like mosquitoes, cockroaches, etc.. AND BEWARE WITH THE " THIEF DOGS" they stole everything you left in front of my room.
3) Beach: it's very dirty with the dogs faeces everywhere. And be carefully. some of those dog were offensive. they tried to bite me many times when i was pregnant for my first time there, and the second one, they did with my 7 months old baby(they are crazy). My husband asked the owner to tie the dogs, and i said he's sorry for us but he can't do that. And those dogs surrounded me when eating. We were obliged to leave after what happened.
Food: Only the food was excellent!

Room tip: do not choose the deluxe room. it's like a prison. it's HORRIBLE!

we were hesitant to book after reading the rather mediocre reviews. However it was new year and everything (not joking - spent ages checking) was full, so was happy to pick up what must have been a last minute cancellation here. for new year the deal was an inclusive meal which was ok but very over priced. the rooms are average, clean but functional. the location is great - at the end of the main beach, near the long tail taxi's. the food is average. the internet requires a code which you have to get each day from reception, which is a bit tedious, and the connection quality is poor. we wanted to extend our stay, so i verbally booked with reception, saying i would come back the next day (still a day in advance of the new booking) to pay. when i came back i found they had sold the room and could only offer a more expensive room (which was just the same as the old one except the fan had been replaced by a TV). very annoying. we got an apology but frankly i think the hotel should not have charged for the difference, because it was their error. all in all an average place with lousy service.

Room tip: standard ac is probably best value

We stayed here just before Christmas. We left it quite late to book, and sorted something out the night before we arrived, which meant that the choice on the island was limited. We had no complaints in choosing Bundhaya resort. The room we had (i forget the classification), was quite small, with aircon. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfy - but the bathroom was a bit old, but what can you expect for £40 / night?! I would say that Koh Lipe is more expensive than the rest of Thailand, so what you would pay in other places doesn't get you the same in terms of rooms spec, but the island makes up for that.

The breakfast in the morning has a good selection and you can choose how you want your eggs cooking.

The best thing about here is the location. It's right on pataya beach, which although it has a lot of boats on it, it is cleaner than sunrise beach.
