Our second visit to Grove Stables and it won't be our last!
Anytime of year is lovely at Grove Stables but summer definitely comes out on top as you can make the most of the beautiful surroundings. Sally and David have large beautifully kept grounds around the stables, so peaceful when sitting outside first thing in the morning with your cuppa listening to the birds. There are many beaches nearby and they are near enough for you to visit a different one everyday.
There is a large Tesco not far from the site so getting your groceries is very easy. There is also a lovely little fish and chip shop in the town of Stalham just a short drive away.
We will definitely be going back.
Thank you Sally and David we had a lovely break and look forward to seeing you soon.
The lounge furniture, beds and bedding are so comfortable you feel you're in your own home.
Sally and David are a lovely couple and they are very welcoming even leaving welcoming gifts upon your arrival.
As always Grove Stables is spotlessly clean.
Wether you're after a long or short stay you definitely won't be disappointed.
Enjoyed a short break with friendly hosts in clean, cosy and comfortable accommodation. Nice touch to supply croissants and strawberries & cream. Having two en suite bedrooms was a luxury we all enjoyed. Highly recommended.
Booked a short break arriving on a Saturday and leaving the following Wednesday. It was the perfect holiday and the cottage made for a great place to stay - having two bedrooms and two bathrooms my sister and I had our own room and privacy. A well equipped kitchen, powerful shower in ensuite upstairs, comfortable beds. We had extremely hot weather so kept the vertical blinds drawn for most of the time to keep the heat out but, it was great to have the patio doors to open them up and sit and eat out in the small garden. The garden was lovely - it looks like a cottage show garden at Chelsea - so sweet and we saw and heard lots of wildlife especially the owl each night hooting! So relaxing and peaceful we didn't want to leave. Parking is no problem and driving to and from places of interest easy. A must visit is the East Ruston Vicarage Gardens - amazing place. Being National Trust members we were able to capitalise on free parking at Horsey Windpump, Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Hall so the first time we paid for parking was Cromer seafront! All these places had access to good walks whether it was on the Weavers Way, Pedders Way or the Coastal footpath - we had a wonderful time and the countryside is beautiful and we even saw swallowtail butterflies at Horsey! A must for eating out is Beechwood Hotel and also the Shambles both in North Walsham. Many thanks to our hosts Sally and David who were so welcoming and friendly. Thank you also for the bread, strawberries, cake and milk on arrival - much appreciated. We hope to return.
Very spacious and light indoors with well equipped kitchen. Two bedrooms of which the downstairs one is enormous. The upstairs bedroom has a lovely ensuite bathroom which was pefect for us. The bed we used downstairs was VERY COMFORTABLE (unlike the beds in some other places we have stayed at).
The owners, Sally and David, are very friendly and personable. Sally even got some supplies in for us when we arrived.
The location is right in the countryside with wild rabbits and squirrels and even a resident Owl hooting around in the evening. There is even a small garden provided to sit in in the sun and it has it’s own Arbor.
There was plenty for us to see and do in the vicinity. We didn’t need to travel more than 15 miles in any direction to find places of interest, like Blickling Hall, or Thrigby Zoo. Norwich was particularly easy to get to. We just left the car at Sprowston Park and Ride. Five pounds covered both our bus fares into Norwich and back.
My husband’s favourite day out was on the Bure Valley railway that ran ove 9 miles from Aylsham to Wroxham. There was more we did too and still there are places we missed so we hope to return to Grove Stables sometime.
This was a nice place to stay - very clean, well equipped and a good location for us. We like walking.
Good communication when booking and friendly on arrival, some nice treats in the welcome pack as well.
We had a very enjoyable weekend.
