The Crowne Plaza is perfectly located in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley, and offers vast array of activities and facilities for a great couple, family or group stay.

Being so close to most of the great wineries in the area, and other areas of interest makes it an ideal location. We often stay there when there is a major music concert (like Elton John, or INXS, or Rod Steward etc) on at one of the wineries, with great transport to and form the venue, no stress and maximum enjoyment.

The onsite facilities are awesome. Firstly, you can stay in one of the many spacious villas, so you don't feel cramped in, then there is the awesome pool ideal for kids of all ages, a great golf course, on site brewery, great food, games, and so much more.

Give it a try its the perfect way to experience the Hunter Valley.

Room Tip: Book a 2 or 3 bedroom villa

Stayed here for one night before a birthday weekend.
one villa for myself and my partner and another for my mum
Checked in around 10pm
Staff were friendly.

Placed our stuff in our rooms and wanted something to eat and drink went to the hotel restaurant kitchen closes 930 or 10 pm and only can get room services hotel rooms 12pm and villas 11pm
So back to our room to Order food

The villas were full kitchen clean and spacious
Both rooms smelt.. my room smelt like cigarettes and my mums room smelt damp/ toilet smells

Once showed and Hopped into bed and found dried blood on the sheets by this time it was 1am and tired so we placed towels on the bed.

The beaky buffet was one of the best I’ve been too!
Variety of food egg station, fresh fruit, make your own juice, breads, hot breakfast, cereals, coffee station and pancake machine.. friendly staff aswell.

Beautiful property!

Nice hotel with good sized rooms. Mine had two queen sized beds and the bathroom had both a bath and separate shower. There are two restaurants one more fine dining and the other a bistro. The prices in the restaurant are a bit excessive but the food is good although the portions are small and th sides are all extra. The bistro is very reasonable by comparison. There is little to do nearby apart from wine tours or golf but I guess that is why most people are here but more than a few days would be tedious. The swimming pool is nice but cold and the sauna etc was closed. Unfortunately when we were there there was building work going on but this was not too intrusive and the manager gave a couple of drinks by way of compensation.

We stayed at this hotel for one night due mainly to its close proximity to the fabulous Mews Restaurant.
Check in was rather slow despite their being 4 check in counters open. No one offered to take our bags.
We booked a villa room which was situated off the main hotel complex. With breakfast $400. Not cheap for Australian standards.
Upon entering the room we noticed a musty smell. Not good.
Our room was a good size with a large functional bathroom and an excellent shower although the exhaust fan was not working properly and the bathroom would fog up after our showers.
The bed and pillows were disappointing. The bed was too hard for my liking and the pillows were not snug.
The bar fridge was noisy and I turned it off during the night.
Needless to say I did not have a good nights sleep.
The room lacked any real character for a country hotel. Very sterile.
We enjoyed a wonderful view of the east car park from our balcony. It was very disappointing.
Disorganised and tacky I think best sum up breakfast.
When we arrived for breakfast there was a line up with people waiting in the lobby. Unacceptable.
Coffee needed to be ordered and one had to wait 15 minutes before it arrived.
The overly sweet orange juice was served in plastic cups. Coffee was served in paper cups. Outrageous.
Our eggs were cooked to a good standard and there was a good selection of fruit. The bake beans were inedible.
Overall this hotel has completely missed the mark. The ambiance resembled a factory rather than an Aussie country hotel.
Would I stay here again. No.

Stayed in a 3 bedroom villa which was certainly comfortable and spacious. However, the kitchen was poorly fitted out- no oven, a minuscule microwave and not enough settings for 6 people. We had to ring the concierge to obtain cutlery and crockery as the cupboards had obviously not been checked after the previous booking. There were no platters, salad bowls or larger bowls. We had to serve salad in a small frypan! If a kitchen is provided it is expected that it contains essential items.
We enjoyed a round of golf on the course and a drink outside the bar where the staff turned the outside heaters on for us. The pool area looked lovely.
There was a large gathering at the resort and we were awoken early Sunday morning (7am) by loud bass music coming from the marquee reverberating across the resort. This shouldn’t happen.

Dear NSW5,

Thank you for the review.

Pleased to hear you enjoyed our comfortable and spacious 3 bedroom villa. Appreciate your feedback regarding the kitchen, I have passed this onto our Housekeeping Manager. The team will thoroughly check the cupboards and ensure it contains the essential items and place settings for 6.

I thank you for your comments regarding our golf course, pool and friendly bar staff. I apologise for the loud music coming from the marquee early in the morning as this should not have occurred.

I hope to welcome you back to the Resort soon.
