We couldn't find a single positive thing about this hotel. It shouldn't be a hotel, and I hope they shut it down. Honestly. The way the owners treated their staff was horrendous. The staff was rude and impolite, they offended us on multiple occasions, gave us these mean looks, and talked down at us, all because we wanted the receptionist to call for a taxi to take us to Samos town (50 euro and an hour drive) because in her opinion we should stay on this side of the island, and preferably in ormos. An hour later the taxi driver arrived and told us we should stay here, and that he would rather drive us around the island for a day than take us to Samos town. What? They just really had a problem with the other side of the island, and in Kokkari (10 min from Samos town) they refused to drive to ormos because it was the "wrong" side of the island. But the south side has very little to offer, and ormos had nothing. No beaches, no shops other than a supermarket (Theres a souvenir shop with almost NO merchandise, you'll stay in for thirty seconds and realize there's nothing there), four tavernas which all has the same tasteless food, sour fish and fruit flies EVERYWHERE. Very unhygienic village, and the kerkis bay hotel was the dirtiest of it all.

Our rooms (room 105 and 204) were dirty, with mold and broken toilet, sink and shower, although the toilet was the worst. The sheets weren't cleaned, they just brushed off them and didn't change them. They didn't clean the floors, they were dirty and sandy, and wet for some reason everytime we got back to the hotel. We remove our shoes the second we come inside, so the dirt on the floors didn't come from us. The beds are the hardest I've ever slept on, we all had sore backs after a few nights here. Seriously, a wooden floor would have been just as "soft" as these beds. There's not really room to sit on the balcony, and your view is just to the entrance of the hotel, sort of a backyard-view. None of the rooms has ocean view, just two suites they have, which aren't available to anyone (they told us you have to book them privately several years in advance).

The worst part is that the staff regularity went through our things. They went through our suitcases, folded our clothes, even our underwear, and our clothes weren't in the way, they were in our suitcases, or in the cabinet, or on the chair in the room. They didn't care about privacy, and opened our suitcases to put things in them?! What the hell. That in itself is reason enough for me never to return here.

the other guests that arrived at the same time we did, quickly switched to a hotel in campos, which is where the nearest beach is located. (You can't walk there, you have to take a 5-10 min taxi for 6 euro each way). We couldn't afford to switch hotel, sadly.

There is nothing to do in ormos. Stay away, and just choose another place to stay. If you like the south side of the island, choose campos. If you're smart, you'll choose kokkari or Samos town or pythagorion, those seemed like the only places where they combine the tourist experience with the authentic one.

It's safe to say I'm never going back to Samos. At least not Ormos. Kerkis bay ruined it for me. Completely. And it's the only hotel in the village anyway, so I know I'm never going back here.

I fell completely in love both with Ormos and the hotel. Peaceful, friendly, clean, fantastic views, fishing boats - very authentic and beautiful. The food in the hotel's restaurant was also excellent - so was the service. I an't wait to return. The next time I would like to stay there a little more than a week, though...

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea side (of course...).

the ormos of marathokampos is a fishermans village and the locals, mainly who live in Karlovassi we tend to visit for tiny breaks (weekend or national days). So, did I with my sister and did not regret it at all.. it was a lovely weekend, the fish taverns around, and a lovely accommodation to make us feel somehow at home in a more villager scenery.

+++ if you stay in there don't miss a pub/club/bar next to the hotel. by saying next it means around 100m (so you wont listen to it at all). especially on Saturday nights it is soo interesting and great fun to be there. It takes you back in time.

Such a lovely village and very friendly hotel. Very clean hotel and room was quite large with a comfortable large bed. Could not sit on balcony as too many plants!!
We stayed for two weeks in June and found a friendly taxi driver, Nicholas, who collected us most mornings and collected us PM from Nik the Greek beach.
Great beach and taverns. Could not fault Kerkis hotel, everyone very friendly.
Would recommend it to you. They also have a very good restaurant. Give it a go....
