My husband and I booked our room last March 3-5,2018 at Eskaya's Infinity Pool Villa. We spent our 3D/2N stay in Balai 15 which they consider as their best villa for Infinity Pool category with breathtaking seaview with its own view deck. We have celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary over this private resort and it did exceeded our expectation. Please allow me to enumerate all the positive things/traits of our recent stay in Eskaya ;

1.) Privacy. Tranquility. Nature. We've been dreaming to stay in a resort that is not crowded, very private, peaceful and relaxing. Whenever there's an occasion , we get to spend it in a 5star hotels in Manila or nearby and out of the country as a reward for ourselves, and hard work. Eskaya made this happen for us. Indeed, Eskaya has the most peaceful resort (so far) that we have ever experienced. You could only see and hear the trees dancing in the wind, chirping birds, red/brown/orange dry leaves & flowers are slowly falling down from the trees, sea waves, flow of running water at the pool... these are the sounds of our mother nature that we could only get from listening to Spotify. We are blessed that we were able to experience it personally because of Eskaya. It's so quiet, tranquillity at its finest. And you wouldn't be disturbed by the other guests since they have 15 villas only, and the number of guests are controlled/limited. We were ultimately relaxed, rested that we have never imagined.

2.) Our villa is well maintained, clean, sanitized and you could only smell the nature -you will only understand it if you know what "nature" really is! Our anniversary was even more special when they greeted and welcome us thru the petals they arranged on our bed. The flowers are everywhere. It was really the sweetest gesture from the staff. They have safety deposit box to secure your valuable stuff. The split type aircon is working well. The bathroom is unique. You will feel, hear the wind blowing while you are in the Jacuzzi ,or sitting on your throne .

3.) Elegance on airport transfers! We were fetch by a Mercedes Benz car!

4.) Our villa has its own infinity pool, overlooking the calm sea. The water in our pool is really clean and clear. The location, and our view are really fabulous and breathtaking!

5.) Their food were all great! Kudos to their resident Chef Rexon and Lorna of Lantawan Restaurant for the great, overwhelming service . We really loved the food! We had our buffet breakfast for 2 days, and they were delicious. Their omelette and hot batirol tsokolate were superb! The food selection were minimal but they're generous enough on the ingredients. We had our full board meals inside Eskaya. Lunch were served to our villa. We had dinner on our view deck with torchlight for the first night, and dinner by the beach with bonfire, torchlight, and serenaded by their local musicians who sings really well! We had a complimentary cake, etc. They're so generous and all the food that they served were really very good from breakfast to dinner!

6.) The staff are very accommodating, Ruel who assisted us since day 1, Jester who made our dinner by the beach really special! We've appreciated his effort to put a bonfire. Ms Lorna- the supervisor of Lantawan who is very friendly and accommodating , makes you want to stay longer in Eskaya. Regina of reception, who is very polite, accommodating in our needs since day 1. All the staff were extending a 5 star quality of service. The drivers who assisted us on our arrival and departure were also friendly and respectful.
Kudos to the team! This Resort is more extraordinary because of the well trained staff, and their one of a kind service.

7.)The staff took the initiative to put mosquito coil or locally known as katol to prevent us from the mosquito bites. The resort also provided us an Off lotion which we really appreciated.

8.) We had our 1hr complimentary massage in The Handuraw Spa. The place was so peaceful and relaxing. Their trained spa therapists are so friendly, serving with a good massage. However, they charged us a php300 per head for the massage oil. We don't really mind the fee because the quality of their massage is really great and rejuvenating!

Our overall experience in Eskaya is really excellent! We did our homework before booking in this Resort so we would know what to expect or not. We did a little research, evaluated some reviews before we've decided to spend our 11th anniversary here. Also, googled their other services that's why we had the most romantic dinner in 2 straight nights! However, there are some areas that needs a lot of work to do like the fish ponds, sea shore-sand , and pool bar which were not maintained in years. There should be also a staff who is assigned to the pool or beach area to look after the guests, and their needs like towels, etc to make everything conveniently served or assisted.

We will definitely come back , this time with the whole family. This is highly recommended to all of those people who wants a very private, peaceful and hassle free vacation. We will definitely recommend Eskaya to our families, relatives and colleagues.

Thank you Eskaya, for the excellent service, wonderful and unforgettable experience! See you real soon!

Our first villa, Villa 1 was tired ,old and smells of wet wood. We then moved to the family villa and that was much better. The restaurant breakfast was the worst breakfast I have ever experienced at an Asian Resort, they could not even make toast they had pre cooked fried eggs but they put them directly into a cold serving dish so they were always cold. Even though breakfast was free one day we elected to go out for breakfast at Nikita's Coffee shop just down the road.
The pool is very picturesque with a swim up bar, however, there was never anyone looking after the pool to give out towels and the swim up bar was always closed. We could not use the toilets by the pool as the lights were not working so you had to go to the restaurant restrooms.
The really great thing about the hotel was the staff, and I must mention Lorna and Jun in the restaurant who went out of their way to be helpful, they just need direction and a good management that has good critical faculties to see the problems. As an example the hot water in the family villa was not very warm, when checked the solar panel outside the villa it was covered in dead leaves and in the shade from the surrounding plants, simple maintenance would solve the problem.
There was no information available about the activities or resort facilities in the rooms. We only found out you could book a dinner on the beach when we saw someone else doing it. They occasionally have a cocktail hour but again no information about where or when.
When you wish to leave the facility you have to wait to get an outside taxi who charge 300p per trip, very expensive for the Philippines.
The spa facilities were really good but let down by mediocre massages, again the staff were so willing but needed training.
We did not meet the expat manager but I did hear him shouting at the staff in the restaurant, anyone who has lived in Asia for any time at all knows you do not shout at the staff if you want their respect.
The beach was very poor but you could walk to the next resort where you could swim.
They are building new villas and a gym but with the current level of staff training I am not sure why.
The hotel arranged a boat trip which they call "island hopping". Our boat had no water, towels, snorkelling gear or even comfortable seats and the "Captain" could not speak English to be able to tell us about the trip. We only went to one island and swam over a small reef with hundreds of other tourists where the biggest activity was trying not to get kicked in the head. We had to wait for one hour until another smaller boat, which we had to pay additional fee, that transported us the one minute to the reef. I am not sure why we could not have just swum to the refs ourselves and saved some of the extra as you do have to pay 25p per person the the Government. A five star resort where guests are paying top dollar normally to expect first class excursions. We elected not to stay at the reef for the full time and return to the hotel.
I must mention the resident manager Andrew who was very friendly and extremely helpful, without him and the rest of the staff this would vacation would have been a complete disaster rather than an a expensive poor experience.

This is a long overdue review. We stayed at Eskaya Resort back in January and I must say it exceeded my expectation. Our first time in Bohol and I am so glad we were able to stay in this hotel.
Excellent service. Thank you to everyone, the reservation crew accommodating, front desk reception and the whole staff pretty much. Special shout out to Regi (hopefully spelled his name right), he works am shift in the restaurant and very nice and professional. Even got me fresh uni from a local fisherman.
Our villa #15 Im glad was available. Excellent view from the infinity pool to the beach. I think one of the best villa in the resort.
My only suggestion. I wished the restaurant had some special menu at dinner (something that is freshly caught ).
Wished we could have stayed longer. Next time will certainly bring the whole family.

Room Tip: villa#15, away fr the other villas. excellent view of the beach

Good day extrakimchi!

The entire team behind Eskaya is thankful to you for sharing that you had a wonderful holiday with us! We strive to ensure you have a memorable time staying with us, and are glad you felt our hospitality.

On your thoughts regarding Balai 15, it does have a majestic view! It is one of three infinity deluxe villas on property, and many guests will surely agree with your sentiments.

We are also noting your suggestion with offering a special menu for fresh catches of the day, especially since we have an abundance of sea urchin (uni) and other local fishes. The next time you come with your family, we'll make sure it's on the menu.

We hope to host you again soon! Have a great week ahead!

Best Regards,
Drew

You may be shocked by the price but believe me, you will forget how much you spent once you experience staying at Eskaya. The grand villa (balai 15) is so spacious and the swimming pool is overlooking the picturesque panglao beach. So private and so romantic. They gave us free champagne, maybe because they know that it’s our honeymoon. :) Price includes free breakfast, kayak , paddleboarding and 1 hour massage. The food is great and the serving is so generous. We really enjoyed our stay. Kudos Eskaya!
