We were on our way to Thirsk and having had an early breakfast we were feeling rather peckish as it was almost 1.30pm. My son in law who was driving said tht he had called here before and had liked it so we decided to stop. There were only two empty tables when we went in which was a good sign and so we ordered three different sandwiches with bowls of chips, The member of staff who served us was very friendly and smiled both when she took the order and when she brought the food. When they arrived they had been freshly prepared and the chips had been freshly cooked. They were excellent and we will certainly call again if we are in the vicinity in the future. I would certainly recommend it.

Me and My missus came in in the weekend for a bit of a lunch before our walk in the abbey
For starters we had the Sandwich Sharing Platter and then I had the Cajun Chicken Bagle with the sweet potato wedges and she had the Pork Patte with parsnip chips and beetroot salsa.
we were so amazed by the quality of service and food we came back for more after our walk.
We had some deserts, i think it was the 2 specials that were on at the time, Homemade Carrot Cake and the Homemade Banana Cake, with coffee and a hot chocolate which was made to perfection.

This is our favourite place for breakfast before a walk. The location is perfect, the staff are really friendly (particular favourites of our dog, who stares at the front door until one of her "friends" comes out with a jar of dog biscuits to give her a fuss). The food is excellent and beautifully presented and we love the view from little room at the back overlooking the river and the Abbey.

Above expectations for homemade, delicious soup and pie. Tasty warm scones and gooey chocolate cake. Many more tempting treats on the menu. A warm log fire and baby friendly with a high-chair. We loved it.
