Owner description: Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat Station is situated at the eastern end of the Isle of Wight. There is a IWC Car Park adjacent. Except over Christmas, the Offshore Boathouse & Shop are open to visitors every day from 2pm - 4pm and from 11am to 4pm during school half terms, the Easter holidays and from 30th June to 28th October. When we are open there is always a Visitors guide in the Offshore Boathouse to assist & answer questions. We regularly launch for training on a Tuesday evening (7pm) - check our website to see when the next training launch will be and do come down to the Offshore Boathouse to watch if you are around.

While staying at Warners Bembridge we attended an open day at the life boat station. We had interesting talks and saw a display in the sea of a rescue. It was lifelike and some thought it was real.

We are delighted that you found your visit during our Open Day last August to Bembridge Lifeboat Station with our Tamar Class All-Weather Lifeboat (RNLB Alfred Albert Williams) so interesting & worthwhile. Thank you so much for your support and for recommending us to others by giving us an "excellent" review. Our crew and guild members, and in particular our volunteer "Visits" guides & those serving in the "Shop" are extremely proud of the fact that most visitors kindly give us 5 out of 5!

For anyone reading this response please note that until Easter the daily opening times of our Shop & the Offshore Boathouse are 2pm to 4pm. For those staying at the Bembridge Coast Hotel, there is normally a weekly talk on the RNLI on Tuesday afternoons and conducted tours of Bembridge RNLI on Thursdays and Saturdays at 13:30. You will find details in Reception.

Details of how to keep in touch with us, information on our operational "shouts" and when we are planning on launching for training can be found on our local Bembridge Lifeboat website. Please note that we do not always launch on a Tuesday evening for training.

Finally, please don't forget to always "Respect the Water". Fight your instinct to swim and just float for the first three quarters of a minute if you find yourself unexpectedly in cold water. For more information please visit the RNLI "Respect the Water" website.

Visited the Bembridge lifeboat station today with family. Not sure what to expect but enjoyed over an hour learning about the lifeboat, station and the amazing things these volunteers do to keep us all safe. Great guide who really engaged with my boys and even got one of them to try on the lifeboat gear. If visiting the island this is a must do experience. Don't forget to pop into the little RNLI shop as well to as show your thanks.

Thank Tim S

We went in for a quick look and spent over an hour walking around, looking at the displays and listening to the lady telling us the history of the place and stories connected with it. And then you see the display with the number of call-outs that the boat has had recently and realise that this is very much a working lifeboat station and that boat could get called out at any time. It's a sobering thought...

Well worth a look and a pound or two dropped in the box!
