I must admit to coming here with a big doubt in my mind. I thought it would be a yawn.

How wrong.

Dirk, our German host, has been working here for 10 years and did a fantastic job of engaging with the group, telling us some fabulous stories, and kept the whole experience light, educational, and fun.

There is a simple exhibition, the Crannogh itself where you sit in and learn about the style of life and a lovely hands on area.

The experience is wonderful and a must visit if you’re in the area.

Very knowledgeable guides. Some great interactive activities. We had a 5 year old and 2 year old with us and had a great time.

Well worth the visit, very interesting, lots to see and do The delivery of both the small artefact museum and the informative chat about learned how the iron age people lived and worked in the reconstructed Crannog was brilliant. The reconstructed Crannog on the water is fabulous. The hands on demonstration of wood turning, fire lighting etc. was also very informative. The staff were brilliant and unlike some other attractions they were very engaged and engaging.

The Scottish Crannog Centre was an absolute highlight of our trip! Stunning location and passionate staff made the trip undoubtedly worth it. A fascinating look into the past and a lively demonstration of how things were made back then. The staff were all wonderful and made the experience better than ever expected. A must see if in the area, worth a trip in of itself! Couldn't be happier, more should visit to help support the wonderful work they are doing here :)
