I dined at the Step House Hotel, Borris. The menu had a lovely selection and the waiting staff were friendly and professional. I ate lamb while my friends ordered duck. The food was very tasty! The mash and vegetables would melt in your mouth. We ordered a variety of coffees which were of an equally high standard.

The bar food in the Step House had a touch of class. I would recommend the Step House Hotel in Borris.

We were lucky enough to get accommodation here recently, its difficult to get a room as it is so popular. We ate from the A la carte menu on Friday night - the food was superb. On saturday we opted for a mix of the afternoon menu and the a la carte. we really had a wonderful week end. The staff are very professional, genuine and friendly. The breakfast was good but a little ordinary for a kitchen that produced the meals the previous evenings. However we really cannot wait to go back again. It was a joy.

Attended a wedding here and was pleasantly surprised at how lovely this hotel is. Lovely reception rooms upstairs with a very boutique feel and a gorgeous stepped balcony. We stayed in the little townhouses just beside the hotel which were perfect for us.

Will definitely return for a weekend stay, Borris is also a beautiful town.

We had the privilege of being invited to a family wedding at this beautiful boutique hotel. As there are only 20 bedrooms in the actual hotel itself we were accommodated in the self cater cottages just next door. The cottages were ideal with two bedrooms, one en suite and a main bathroom, a beautiful sitting room and kitchen fully equipped for a family of 4. The hotel itself was warm and welcoming with open turf and log fires everywhere. The wedding meal was 1st class. Would definitely consider staying here again to tour that area and surround.

Room Tip: If travelling with a family choose one of the self catering cottages

A proper posh hotel like in The English country side or France. The setting, architecture, gardens, food, service, ambiance staff , are all top class. I will return. Perhaps a more extensive wine list could be offered and a few more gin selections.

Room Tip: i loved the Sauvignon and the mackeral course
