I love love love this hotel.....beautiful rooms with the most amazing views.....rooms are small but well set up with everything you need....the smallness of the room actually makes it feel really homely.....wonderful balcony to sit out and enjoy the beautiful town of Opononi.....
I promise you will not be disappointed.....this is the worlds best kept secret of a gem.....cannot wait to go back....bed was divine, great selection of tv channels, tea, coffee, kettle, fridge etc.....
Great little shops within a very short stroll and an amazing pub with the most excellent food and wonderful locals to chat with....
I shouldn't share this knowledge with you so I can hog this little gem all to myself.....please make sure you visit Tane Mahuta on the way.....an experience you do not want to miss....

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful...

We were delighted with our stop here, especially after a long day of driving to Cape Rienga. The room was clean & warm, we could see the water from our room, heaps of hot water/pressure & our bed was excellent. The added bonus was that the pub was part of the complex so didn't get wet in the rain. There was an open fire & it was 'thrifty night' so we had an excellent choice of $10 meals. We both enjoyed our meals, which although not large, were very tasty & felt good value. We had the seafood chowder & hot rock duo with kumara fries, but the pizza, ribs, nachos, burgers & fish & chips all looked great.

Nice,if small room. Good bathroom.Very clean and warm, quiet , a balcony with sea view. Door to balcony was very stiff. The resturant was closed, I would advise anyone to only eat in the bar as a last resort.

We were staying at another hotel in the area and wanted to go to the local pub. Unfortunately the barman was surly and unhelpful, and their choice of music was inappropriate and overpowering. It could be a great spot in a beautiful location, but needs some refining and attention to detail. If you have a mostly older crowd, don't play Rage Against The Machine or heavy Dub. Also, if you advertise a Bar Menu, have some food available, don't bark at your customers to "Come back at five".

Excellent location and the food is good. A good way to enjoy a neer and wind down. Over summer they have bands and is set up well. Easy place to unwind with a few with family and friends. The locals are friendly as with the staff
