Our Daughter and Son in Laws wedding held at Grittleton House in October 2017 was truly a day to remember. Every single aspect from the presentation in the house to the catering staff looking after the event was timed and delivered with perfection. Special thanks must go to Emma who steered the bride and groom from the initial enquiry to paying special attention on day with suggestions for the photography sets which captured the event to the very best back ground. Timing of guests and the arrival of the bride for the ceremony. Pam & Nelson with all other staff based in the lounge / dining area at the stable block, which offers overnight accommodation for extra effort in accommodating us with items that were not on the standard menu and for those of us that had special dietary needs .

Room Tip: Beautiful grounds in a lovely setting

This is the third year our school have used this as their year 6 residential and I couldn't recommend it enough. All the rooms are ensuite and sleep a maximum of 8 children which was absolutely perfect for us. The staff rooms were in the same block and also ensuite.
The grounds at Gritleton are enormous and the children enjoyed playing sports and going for walks to explore. The food was served in the main house and was a great menu - lasagne, burgers, ice cream etc. Each day we were provided with a packed lunch for our day out and these were ready straight after breakfast.
The layout of the place was great - we were able to sit outside after the children had gone to bed but near enough to keep an ear out for any issues. We had access to a fridge so could bring any extra food with us and tea/coffee was available all day. There is even wifi in the teachers room which is helpful as the mobile signal there is not great!
Josh and Rupert were fantastic and helpful throughout - they really made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you and we hope to be back next year!

We celebrated the wedding of our daughter at the school. The setting was idyllic and very romantic.
The ceremony was lovely and the registrars were very professional and friendly.
The meal was excellent, often at these sort of mass catered occasions, the meal can leave something to be desired, but everything served was hot, very tasty and well presented.
The service was first class and the owners made us all feel very welcome and valued.
Thank you for making this special day really wonderful and one to remember.
I cannot comment on the Stable rooms as we did not use them as they were booked.

Room Tip: We did not use the rooms but as a wedding venue it was wonderful

We have returned from a wonderful weekend away at The old Stables at Grittleton House.
25 families on an under 15 rugby tour were all delighted with our accommodation and the wonderful breakfast and evening meals that were provided.
The rooms were clean and fresh, the food was well thought out & yummy for a large party (rugby boys) and plenty of it. We had three people who suffer with Celiac disease with us and the chief made a great food for them but without singling them out. I was so impressed with everything to do with our stay. Thank you to all the staff who were very kind, we hope to return maybe when the weather is better!

Room Tip: happy with all rooms

We brought a class of 10 and 11 year olds to stay for 5 days in June 2015. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The ensuite rooms were well appointed. Our children commented that it was "like staying in a posh hotel". The bathrooms were excellent and all bed linen plus bath mats were supplied. The rooms were cleaned every day.
The quality of the food was superb - proper food cooked well and something for even the fussiest eater. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Whilst we had planned 2 days of activities off site ourselves, Rupert and Josh were kind enough to offer us swimming and golf on site. I would not hesitate to recommend this as a venue for a school residential. We have already rebooked for next summer.
