Been here 3 times in the last week and loved it. It's so down to earth and the staff are very welcoming and relaxed. First night we were here there was a darts match on, so we were directed to the restaurant where they had set us a table and put the heater on. The food duly arrived and it was delicious and all very reasonable priced.

A really nice bar/restaurant. Very nice food and very nice staff. I can’t comment on the beer as I’m having a couple of dry months.

Thank Martin M

We were staying near the Strathardle Hotel self catering. We took the short(10 to 15 minute but slightly alarming walk no street lights or pavements for about 1/4 of a mile) a torch is mandatory at this time of year.
Once we arrived only the bar that was open (not just bar meals) We both chose a lamb dish which we both decided was a melt in your mouth meal, followed by the sweet which one was a creme brulee and the other was a sticky toffee pudding, both were just as good as the main course. we returned 2 evening later(same lightless road etc) this time we had different meals one was good old fish and chips which was one of the best that I have ever had (and I have had many of these dishes all over Scotland and England) the batter was just so crispy and the Haddock was fried to perfection with rough cut chips and mushy peas, my wife had a Squash & aubergine Tagine which she said was very tasty, I was the one to have another sweet this however was not up to the standard of the rest of the meals as Cranachan should be whisky flavoured and this definitely was not. The service was really good and all the dishes were freshly cooked. The bar was well stocked and the wood burning was just as it should be !!!
