We know the hotel well, with our parents staying there a few years ago, when the owners had just taken over the management. The style of the cuisine has completely changed since then and Latitude 47 is now a very impressive restaurant. We were lucky to get a family table at the panoramic window for Sunday lunch, and the food lived up to the spectacular view of the beach at low tide. We were very well advised by the owner on the choice of wine, which turned out to be exceptional and a good partner for the seafood menu. Four of us had the 29 euro 3-course menu, and the others chose from the 39,-. Little difference between them, all dishes were excellent. Between us, we know most of the 'big name' restaurants in Morbihan, but we agreed that Latitude 47 is up there with the best of them.

The food in the restaurant is superb and the choice is varied. The wine list has some very interesting wines. Both were enjoyed wholeheartedly and then followed by a heavenly desert.

We stayed ion the hotel for two nights,I am coeliac and require a gluten free diet, this was no problem for the restaurant, they were very attentive, the first night the food and service were excellent, the second night it was very busy, this time the service was a little slower, but unfortunately the food was cold.

Latitude 47 was recommended by our host at the Maison d'hôtes Calzac-Moulin (see separate valuation!). The restaurant was well worth the 20 minutes drive to get there!
My wife had the terrinne de fois de canard as a starter followed by a filet de dorade while I started with a carpaccio de bar (sea bass) and then had médaillons de lotte (monkfish) au lard. The food was excellent and beautifully presented! We had Dacquoise à la pistache and Buiscuit crocquant au chocolat noir for dessert.
The Latitude 47 has a well sorted wine list. We chose a bottle of Poully Fuissé for a moderate 43 Euros and where quite happy with it. They have a good choice of whiskies too, but as I had to drive home I resisted the temptation.
Service is gracefully unhurried but still effective and very friendly!

My wife and I had a fantastic meal here during a short stay at the Hotel de la Plage.

We chose the 39 Euro menu which gives you a three course meal with choice from the a la carte menu. You can add a cheese course for another five euros.

My chose foie gras to start while I had "langoustines roties" absolutely delicious! For our main "plates", we both wanted the lamb and weren't disappointed. We were asked how we liked it cooked and it came up perfectly.

Our deserts were also delecious - Dacquoise and a biscuit confection covered in chocolate. Very indulgent!

We chose a Pinot Rouge at twenty six euros to wash it all down - it needs to be served slightly chilled but not cold and again, it was absolutely spot on.

If you include the aperitif we enjoyed the bill came to around 110 Euros - pretty good value considering the quality of the food and wine. Cheaper options are available!

Good friendly service and a lovely setting - what more do you want?
