A 3 day visit for a chill out weekend for the wife's birthday started when we were greeted at the Duck Bay reception. The young lady on the front desk had a huge smile and a very bubbly demeanour. She welcomed us, sorted our room keys and answered all of our questions with a very precise local knowledge. Our room, 22, was immaculate and had a stunning view over the Loch with the beautiful snow capped Ben Lomond in full view. That evening we ate in the hotel restaurant. As we were on a B&B basis we had to pay for our meals. The menu was varied and very reasonably priced and the staff attentive but not overbearing. A visit to Bobbys, the hotel tea room, is also a must. With fantastic views across the loch you can have a selection of cakes or afternoon tea as well as snacks and sandwiches. Locally, a walk along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond north towards Helensborough or south into Ballach are well worth it. As is the short drive to the House of Darrach tea rooms and gift store.

always fancied going here so we decided today lets give it a try.
we have visited the other restaurants owned by this chain,
busy,,,great views ...all good....starter was lovely,,, mains .......very dissapointed!!
burgers were cold!! staff very quick to take away and replace with freshly cooked burgers,My burger returned as it should hot and chewy like eating a rubber band,my sons came back first bite grizzle and juice squirting out of it i just hope it was juice and not the water content of the burger ,,,,,to be told by a member of staff"WE USE THE SAME SUPPLIERS AS FIVE GUYS" i nearly laughed both meals obviously were not charged for ..my daughter was that hungry she ate her fish and chips (in breadcrumbs)which again was a disappointment we never complained about the fish as she didn't want a fuss.
On a plus note the cafe type place served fantastic cakes and coffee...took the horrible burger taste from my pallet ....Wont be back sadly

O what a night a very expensive overall very extremely poor quality dining experience it was very similar to a cattle market the situation was an over booked restaurant with over worked uninterestied staff and poor quality food this restaurant is totally geared for the tourist market. I would defenatly not recommend dinning at the duck bay expensive and poor quality.
I phoned the duck bay hotel the following day and asked to speak to the restaurant manager regarding our experience the previous evening and was told by a very polite woman that the restaurant manager was to busy to Speak to me and was told to put any complaintsi in Writing. Well that says it all I think such a shame a beautiful location shame about the food staff and attitude.

Lovely location and decor but the meal was very poor. 3 of us went for the salad but it was difficult to find the chicken below the heap of salad leaves. Half a dozen rabbits would have enjoyed it but was certainly not acceptable for humans. Vastly overpriced for what they served up. On previous visits it has been good but chef obviously had an off night tonight.

My daughter and fiancée had set their heart on duck bay as their wedding venue.
After a meeting with a rude member of the event staff, they have since changed their minds.
A venue 10 minutes from duck bay has since got their booking,(in excess of £10,000).
