I spent two wonderful weeks in an Italian immersion class at La Palazetta del Vescovo. The accomodations were fantastic. The cuisine was fabulous. The owners, Stefano and Paula, are absolutely wonderful. They made me feel most welcome and were so genuinely supportive of me as I went through my two week course of study. As a frequent traveler to Italy, I can say without hesitation that my time at La Palazetta del Vescovo has been my best experience thus far. I highly recommend this property. You will not find a more beautiful setting, better accomodations, and more welcoming hosts in Stefano and Paula. I can't wait to return. This is the best of Umbria!! Grazie mille, Stefano e Paula!

Room Tip: All rooms have a wonderful view of the infinity pool, valley and mountains

We had a wonderful holiday at La Palazetta del Vescovo - everything was fantastic. The warm hospitality provided by Stefano and Paula from the moment we arrived complemented the sweeping views of the Umbrian countryside, the stunning pool and grounds, and the very comfortable and beautifully furnished rooms. The highlight was Paula's cooking! Many thanks for the special memories.

This property is beautiful and very weil kept. The rooms are very comfortable and the view is great. But what makes it truly special is their owners, Stefano and Paola, who go out of their way to help you make the best of your stay. They will help in absolutely everything and will anticipate your needs, as making sure a taxi will be at your car rental when you need it to take you to the train station. Paola's cooking is simple and very good. And before dinner they will have a cocktail gathering for the guests, with wine and snacks which are a good way of meeting other guests. We really felt treated as friends in a warm, relaxing atmosphere. Paola and Stefano will recommend restaurants, sights, give directions to cities, if you ask, and not in an interfering way. They are really very special people. The Palazzetta is a good place to use as a base for visiting cities such as Perugia, Orvieto, Spello, Todi and Assisi.

My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at La Palazzetta. It was an unbelievable experience! From the moment we arrived, Paola and Stefano made us feel as if we were in our own home. It was warm, comfortable and inviting. They could not have been more kind, generous, and accommodating. The room was fabulous! Paola made a fantastic dinner and Stefano wowed us with his knowledge of good wine. I just wish we had been able to stay longer. We will certainly return as soon as possible. It is a true gem.

My husband and I have travelled to Italy many times but somehow have never made it to Umbria. Big mistake. This is truly the undiscovered but even more beautiful country cousin to the more popular Tuscany. When you decide to go, don't hesitate to make La Palazzetta your home base. Here you will find a charming, beautiful, warm and cosy home, lovingly designed to the last detail by Paolo and Stefano, the hosts and owners. Every is special without being fussy: the beautiful and carefully chosen bed linens, the antique tiles in the bathroom, the super comfortable beds. The living spaces are delightful, full of interesting details and personality. There's always complimentary sweet treats, baked by Paola, fruit and beverages available throughout the day. The grounds are as gorgeous as the house, with an infinity pool overlooking the rolling Umbrian countryside.

Within an easy drive are the fascinating hill towns of Umbria: Spoleto, Gubbio, Todi, Montefalco, Orvieto (be sure to buy some linens when you go to Montefalco and ceramics in Gubbio). Great food to be had everywhere, but don't miss Paola's cooking. As one previous reviewer said, we had only intended to eat at La Palazzetta one night but ended up dining there three nights of four. We even did cooking lessons with Paola. Everything was fresh, deliciously prepared and so so flavourful.

Truly La Palazzetta was a highlight for us. If we could have stayed longer we would have; I know for creation we will be back. Paola and Stefano - thank you for making our trip so memorable.
