My husband and I were traveling through Italy to celebrate both our 4th anniversary and our last big trip before our daughter arrives in October. Needless to say, I was seven months pregnant, but Stefano and Paola made us feel right at home. Stefano's quick wit and amazing wine recommendations, and Paola's 4-course, 5-star rated meals kept us wanting to stay forever.

Basically, staying at La Palazzetta del Vescovo is like staying with your amazing aunt and uncle's who will spoil you rotten for your entire stay. And you will not want to leave. You will even try to cancel other parts of your trip just so you can stay longer. You will go home and immediately start planning ways to get back there for a visit the following summer. You will tell all your Tuscany-loving friends that La Palazzetta del Vescovo in Umbria is so much better. They are just that awesome.

This is a glorious place. We spent three utterly delightful days there. The location is extraordinarily beautiful: the views are astonishing. From the stupendous pool, you can see for miles down the valley that stretches towards Perugia. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. Paola and Stefano run both the hotel and the restaurant. Paola is a fantastic cook. Her food is superb: we enjoyed three meals a day, and every one -- breakfast, lunch and dinner -- was delicious. Stefano can be relied on to choose a delicious wine at a reasonable price. The whole experience was, for our whole family, unforgettably good. I recommend this place without reservation.

Room Tip: All the rooms are delightful.

This is the best you can get when you're in Umbria! Everything is just perfect: the rooms are very nice and spacious, even the smallest rooms (Torricella and Poggio). They were cleaned everyday very well. Breakfast is excellent, garden, pool and views are stunning! And last but not least: Paola and Stefano make you feel at home. We've been here twice en we'd love to go back as soon as possible!

We loved La Palazzetta del Vescovo. The hosts, Paulo and Stefano, are very warm and made us so welcome. The setting is beautiful And the food…each meal was an experience and a pleasure..a great pleasure. Paulo is incredible in the kitchen using their own home grown produce and we were delighted with each course each night. Lovely selection of wines too. The rooms are very generous in size and comfort and the pool spills out onto the Umbrian valley below of vines and olive tress . Stefano is a great help and told us where to go each day to discover the treasures of Umbria..and there are many.

It was perfect last year, this year it just got better. You can save yourself a lot of time and effort searching for somewhere to stay in Umbria (or anywhere in Italy for that point - or even the world!) by just booking here. Steffano and Paula (the owners) are Palazetta Del Vescova. Food is so Italian and all sourced locally and cooked beautifully; the wines are the best I have tasted - just go with Staffano's recomendations; the rooms are beautifully decorated having suberb views which ever way your room faces, and they are spotless; outside the gardens are really well maintained and colourful, there is a wonderful covered terrace overlooking the lawn and infinity pool and the views beyond are quite simply vast. Go here and re energise - just go!
