We were seduced by the views on offer up above the pretty village of Casares and the Sierra Crestellina with its circling vultures. This restaurant had everything going for it other than whoever produces the food obviously can't cook! What's worse is that the prices are almost on a par with the excellent Arroyo Hondo just a couple of kilometres down the road.
My starter of Andalucian gazpacho tasted like blitzed tinned tomatoes and nothing else. My wife started with asparagus that had obviously come from a jar and they didn't even have the decency to drain it before plopping it on the plate. I opted for the 17 euro pork for my main course and this was so overcooked that it took quite an effort to cut it and even more so to chew it. My wife's chicken main was much the same. The "freshly baked" bread was heavier than your average cannonball. The food was also heavily salted making it very unpleasant dining experience.
Great views if stopping for a drink but avoid the food at all costs!!!
