I have read some of the comments on this website with the utmost dismay - parsimonious and mean to an extreme.
This restaurant is a jewel in the crown in Casares. It is a Spanish Restaurant! do not expect English food! Having said this the Menu is International and written in several languages for those who can not be bothered to Speak, even a limited Spanish.
The Owners have become my friends and when in Spain I tend to dine here 3/4 times a week. Summer, on the Terrace is stupendous. Winter in the interior, sometimes be a bit chilly but Pepe and hi staff will move the gas fires around to ensure your are warm even if you have not imbibed in the local Muscatel as an aperitif.
Pepe also owns the Apartamentos Puerto de La Cruz, on the hillside 50 metres from the restaurant with the same stunning views. I have lived here for for several months and can commend them as being in the highest order of comfort and cleanliness.
The Fare in the restaurant is Country Spanish - excellent! Cabrito is a speciality and is a huge portion. The Gazspacho is a "proper" dish and indeed is a meal in itself.
The ambiance, The superb Spanish food, the stunning views of the Medieval Pueblo Blanco and the Hospitality of the Host makes this the finest Restaurant in the area.
