As part of a Road Scholar walking tour we spent a morning in Sarzana and ate lunch at Il Loggaiato. What a unique, beautiful, historic restaurant. We were greeted and led to an upstairs dining room with a huge table ready for our group of eighteen. Each room we walked through was decorated more beautifully than the previous room. All were full of antiques and unusual decorations. My husband was seated in front of a huge (maybe five feet tall) display of dried hydrangeas. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch of five courses. Everything was presented nicely by attentive and pleasant wait staff. If you are in Sarzana, treat yourself and have a meal at Il Loggiato.
