It was a warm stay and felt like at home. There is very good nostalgic feeling shopping street and a lot of delicious food. There are also have great Japanses Gardens. We enjoyed it very much at komagome. This place have convenient transportation and supermarket. We are very grateful to the host Maki kindly introduced Komagome this nice place. We will come back again.
The location was perfect for getting to all the main cities of Tokyo and Komagome is a great place itself with excellent places to eat and two supermarkets nearby. Maki (the owner) was very attentive and helped make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Communications with Maki, the owner, was efficient and friendly. We stayed 6 nights in this very convenient apartment. Komagome station, on the Yamanote line is just an easy 5 mins flat walk through a delightful street lined with bakeries, restaurants/cafes, minimarkets and other retail shops. Maki provided very clear and helpful instructions for getting to and into the apartment, and great tips for the surrounding and usual tourists sites. He also promptly acceded to our request for a portable heater for the room, as we had arrived on a particularly cold night and found the aircon heater insufficient to warm up the whole apartment.
The apartment is not luxurious but sufficiently well equipped, comfortable and cosy for our family of 4.
The water heater and shower works great, there's a washing machine (no dryer needed bcos everything dries in a jiffy in the dry weather), TV, dining table, a kitchen equipped with all the essentials.
The futons/mattresses on the floor were very comfortable. We slept like logs. No regrets at all booking this apartment. Thanks, Maki.
We prefer to stay in a condo rather than a hotel because the windows/balcony doors can be opened to let in fresh air, whereas most hotels keep the windows locked and can be stuffy. Maki's condo suited us quite well: it was quiet yet offered plenty of food shopping nearby; the bakery just outside the east exit of Komagome JR Station offers a big variety of fresh-baked goods throughout the day. The gardens nearby are awesome. The furnishings and kitchen goods are basic, which is all we needed. Bring your own corkscrew if you drink wine. The Wifi signal was strong, the heater and bath worked well. I give four stars because the unit matched our expectations, not because it is a four-star luxury property.
Maki our host was a pleasure to deal with from the moment of inquiry to our departure. He promptly answered questions and even gave us some tips on places to visit etc with the kids.
The apartment is intimate by Australian standard but nevertheless it was the perfect size for our family of 5. It has a bedroom, a living room with doors that had couches that convert to futons and a kitchen with meals area. There is a washing machine in the bathroom as well which was very handy. As for the location, couldn't have asked for a better place. Komagome suburb is gorgeous and on the Yamanote train line which is what you would use to go to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Akihibara etc and they are not more than 20-30 mins by train. Lovely restaurants lined the small street as you exit the Komagome station and the apartment is not more than 5 mins away on foot.
Overall the apartment is lovely and the location is perfect and the host Maki was wonderful. Thank you Maki for our lovely stay
