We stayed one night at the Hotel Schloss Binningen. It is located approximately 15 minutes by tram 10 from the Basel main train station. The tram stop is right outside of the hotel. The main attraction of this historic site is the Schloss Binningen Restaurant which offers very good food.

When we arrived at around 17.30, the hotel door was closed, although on the hotel booking platforms it says that check in is until 18.00. A lady from the restaurant then gave us the key which had been deposited in a safe box outside of the hotel. I recommend that you call the hotel to arrange for a code for the safe box if you arrive after 17.00.

We had an executive room on the 3rd floor with a nice view onto the castle. The room was very spacious and had a very large bathroom with tub and shower. Everything was very clean. The bed was excellent.

The breakfast buffet was very nice as well and staff very friendly.

This beautiful venue boasting a grand terrace is the ideal setting for food amateurs to rejoice the palate. Superb choices from the menu accompanied by fine wines enjoyed either on the the genereous terrace or in the grand dining rooms Inside. A must and worth every penny!

We enjoyed our stay. Staff helpful, room spacious with simple stylish furniture. Wi fi excellent and free. Tv had programmes in various languages including BBC1 and BBC2. Trams close by and we had free use of public transport. Hotel very clean and breakfast excellent with freshly made coffee. Tea and coffee making facilities in room.
Historic castle next door with beautiful restaurant.

For the price, I was disappointed with this hotel. I was expecting more modern and matched room decor and bathroom. Room was older with odd ball furniture. Bathroom had poor lighting and ventilation. Older painted closets. Window was great. Location good. Staff are the best part being super friendly and helpful. Breakfast average. Right next to a tram stop. Room came with a free tram ticket.

Dear Tadtv

Thank you for your honest rating. I’m sorry to hear about your experience with our room and bathroom.
People are different – and also their expectations. A shame we couldn’t fulfil your expectations.
We are already looking forward to welcoming you again, it would be a pleasure.

Regards,
Thibault Wendling
