We are staying at Lord Crewe arms. So been for a walk around reservoir then went for a bite of lunch here. The chap came across straight away to apologise as there staff including his wife were at a funeral, so we had the "B" team. Some hot food was not available. No matter I had the soup and sandwich deal for £8.10. The Pea and Ham soup was the best I have ever had since my mums. It was delicious and the Three ham sandwiches were so fresh and tasty. Service was excellent , the chap and young lads deserve to be the "A" team. Cannot wait to try the A team. Lovely friendly people. Spotlessly clean.

We visited here during the easter bank holiday. Very pleasant lovely part of Northumberland. Recommend the cheese scones - they were delicious. Definitely go back.

Popped in for a cuppa after a five hour drive to Blanchland. Had a lovely scone served with homemade rhubarb jam. My husband chose the yummy chocolate cake. Friendly staff served a great cup of tea. Just what we needed.

Once we were in the service was prompt and friendly. However, on a cold day, queuing outside a closed door isn't my idea of fun. Quirky and cosy interior, however, it is pricey; £7 for a baked potato. We were somewhat bewildered when out hot pork sandwich and coleslaw came covered in gravy. Gravy and coleslaw is not a combination we will rush to repeat. If you're into cakes, the selection looked very appetising.

After completing the muddy riverside walk with our dog we decided to fortify ourselves with a cuppa and cheese scone. We sat in the sheltered garden (sun was out at that stage) although it was made clear that we were more than welcome to take the dog inside. The scones were light and delicious with a generous helping of cheese. We had a portion of home made chutney on the side- again delicious. We will definitely be back.
