Great setting, a bit tired to say the least but the welcome from the staff more than made up for it. Clearly the hotel plays a big part in the local community with functions on every night during our stay. Very good breakfasts.

Room Tip: Try to get sea view

Courtmacsherry hotel is a small yet delightful hotel set in a beautiful location. Sitting on the lawn with a spectacular view of the bay is idyllic. The staff could not be more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Add some great food, from the full irish breakfast to dinner, either a la carte or bar food and you have a perfect setting for somewhere to stay in this picturesque, quiet village - and a great base to explore the region.

Visited recently with my partner. It's an old fashioned place but that's okay.
The views are to die for overlooking the sea. There's a walk along the sea and def visit the Community Shop to support the locality.
The hotel itself is very relaxing and the staff are super helpful and friendly.
The thing that lets it down is the food. It's adequate only.
The dinner menu is okay. I got a nice chicken curry which was tasty.
But the Irish breakfast wasn't great.
Very drably presented and I wasn't impressed at all.
Overall experience was good and I would go back again but they need to sort out the food...

Love the village of courtmacsherry, but with only 1 hotel accommodation is limited. Will probably try one of the b&b's next time. I stayed here mid summer 2016 and it's was ok. Decided to have a Christmas break in December 2016. Food and bar are good but the accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. We like old fashioned and quaint but no heating, no shower gel and bad plumbing are not acceptable. After asking night porter about heating, he promised he would reset boiler. I checked radiator one hour later and still no heat. Slept in my clothes. Made complaint next morning, no explanation/discount/apologies given. The kind of things you would expect in this century. As I said the bar and bar food are good. Accommodation is very under standard and over priced for a 3 star. Won't be staying here again.

Dear William,

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear of your bad experience. I can assure you that having no heating or shower gel is not something that happens on a regular basis in our hotel. We supply shower gel, soap, tea & coffee facilities to all our guests complimentary. The fact that you did not have any in your room was obviously an over sight of our cleaning staff and for that we apologise.

Owners and managerial staff can not recall this complaint in reference to the heating. We are disappointed that it was not brought to our attention at the time as we could have spoken to you directly and offered you a discount. Your review is received over three months after you stayed with us. We would appreciate if you could contact us directly so that we can discuss this matter with you.

We are an old hotel and we are constantly upgrading our facilities. Some of rooms have been re decorated since your stay with us. The upkeep of an old Victorian Hotel is huge and can be a slow process but we are confident that our rooms are up to standard with further improvements of decor being done at present.
We hope to hear from you soon to further understand your complaint here on Tripadvisor.

5 couples spent the weekend here. Experienced great food, great atmosphere, outstanding customer service. Well worth a visit - the roaring fire awaits in winter and the party on the lawn in the summer ! Can't wait for next visit !
