Just left here as I needed my sugar fix. Ice cream was fantastic!!! If your in the area it’s a great stop. Tons of birds eating all over in the trees. Also heard pizza was amazing.

The waiter treated us like we were the only customer in the restaurant. Well actually we were. But the pizza was the best I have had in the US or abroad. The view was superb and as the night came on the lights really added to the ambiance. A cute little gecko kept us company. By the way the home made chocolate ice cream was rich and very delicious and should not be overlooked. Prices are very reasonable. All in all one of the best overall dining experiences in the past 10 years.

We stopped here for lunch after a morning hike in Arenal National Park. The pizza was delicious and plentiful! We ordered one pizza for our two school-aged children to share, and then another for me and my husband ordered a calzone! So much food- if we had known how large everything was, we definitely would have ordered less! We also enjoyed watching the birds with the yellow tails and distinctive sound - and even more unusual pendulum shaped nests from the second floor of the restaurant.

We stoped here for dinner and had a wonderful experience start to finish. Juan was an excellent server and very fun to talk to. He really knows the area and makes you feel right at home. The calzone knocked our socks off it was so good. The pizza was right there with it. But save the best for last. There ice cream is homemade and by far the best we have ever had in all of our travels to Costa Rica. El Castillo is such a wonderful place to be and you will be glad you made the short trip and wish you stayed out here if you came from the city.
