This large city park could be beautiful but it is in need of a lot of work to improve it. Sadly the miniture railway was not running the day we visited but it has a lot of track and looks fun. Good park for exercising dogs and children, and several football pitches. Large free carpark. Toilets grubby in what looked like portacabins. We did not find a cafe to sit down for a coffee, just a kiosk next to the toilets. The walled garden has a refurbished glasshouse but still needs a lot doing,

Highly recommended, model trains to have a ride on Sundays, Café, toilets. Lovely walks cycle paths and if you take your dogs there is a shower to clean them up afterwards.

Good parking area that's matted out on the grass should the main tarmac car park be full

Great swing and play area for younger children. Probably the best I've taken the boys to so far

Best kept secret is the miniature railway, that you can ride on....and is totally free! Although a donation will keep the volunteers going. Check the running times of the railway as it is seasonal. Seek out the tranquil walled kitchen garden, with espaliered trees and plants you can buy. In summer there is always an ice cream van by the huge playground as well as a kiosk, but if you visited in the off season it is so close to the centre of Leyland that you could pop in a cafe. The fenced-off playground is huge, with sand pits (note the plural), swings, a slide, and all sorts of stuff as well as plenty of benches. Top tip: bring the bikes, trikes, trolleys and a football.
