Description: The Duke of Wellington in East Horsley is an ancient country pub in Surrey with a striking appearance thanks to Lord Lovelace’s Victorian passion for decorative brickwork. It sits at the top of Ockham Road South by the green – ready to entertain friends and strangers alike with warm hospitality. We serve great gastropub food. We are passionate about service and the provenance of the food and drink. Our chef and the team cooks fresh food from scratch. We serve specials every day. To see our latest food offer, have a look at our website. It's a great privilege to be looking after this masterpiece of a pub for the next 10 or 25 years. The Duke is now owned by 4 partners from Peach Pubs. We aren't a part of a chain, we are successful and so we do have a group of 18 pubs. We are enthusiastic individuals attempting to make a series of great pubs work again. Jo designed the Duke new look. Jordan is there most days looking after the guests. Peach is fairly special. Most years, we win Best Employer in Hospitality industry because we love it, and we love our team. We really hope you come and enjoy the Duke of Wellington sometime soon.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch with family. Gorgeous interior decor, fantastic staff, attentive and very friendly. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Great food & drinks menus. Can’t fault at all. Would highly recommend a visit.

Booked a table at 4pm on our way home from a Guildford shopping trip having read great reviews online.
I had the roast beef which was lovely, and all the trimmings were piping hot, fresh and delicious, my daughter had the fish and chips which were equally good.
Would definitely recommend it !

So much better than it used to be. No more Sky TV and football colours and in comes friendly bar service, decent beers and an altogether better atmosphere. And the food isn’t too shabby either. Great turnaround. Well done to those involved.

The fish and chips, at £13.75, was excellent/fresh and the service was pleasant and efficient. However a pint of London Pride at £4.60 has to be too expensive. Overall our assessment shifts from a very good 4* to a 3* because the value for money here is relatively poor. We also dislike restaurants that serve dishes that require sides to make a
proper meal and add an automatic service charge - beware.

I had the lamb and asked for it to be rare
It could not have been better
Absolutely gorgeous
Potatoes lovely
In fact everything about it was great
What really made it was our waiter and sadly I didn’t get his name
Far to many expresso martinis !!
However I know he came from Tasmania
Nothing was too much trouble
He was a delight and a credit to your company
