We had an unforgettable experience at Cascina Parisio. When we arrived the place was shut up, the tables on one side. They were busy redecorating the place. We had not booked and the children were really hungry. They offered us some meats and bread on the house, explaining that they were shut for a few days. I said that was wonderful but that we needed to pay because there were six of us. We pulled out a table and some chairs. They made us feel so welcome.
By the end of the evening we had a plate of meats, a plate of cheeses, breads and a delicious salad. They brought drinks for the children, wine and beer for myself and my husband. They then followed this with some of the best pasta that we had tasted, simply cooked with fresh tomatoes and spring onions.
The children were enchanted with the wildlife; rabbits hopping everywhere, lizards, a frog and birds. The surrounding scenery was beautiful, bursting into spring.
All this despite the fact that they were closed.
I would absolutely recommend Cascina Parisio, for its wonderful surroundings, fabulous hospitality and gorgeous food.
