We selected this property because of its proximity to Limoges, famous for its porcelain, and it turned out to be a delight on its own. Like other reviewers, we ended up in a large room with an outdoor terrace, with a splendid view down the expansive lawns to the lakes. The extensive walks through the property's woods whetted our appetites for the finely-crafted dinner and well-chosen wine list.
Like most boutique hotels in France, it had its own eccentricities - the room was tastefully simple rather than luxurious and we had to ask for a laundry bag - but the service was friendly and Jorge, the young German Shepherd, popped around to our terrace when he thought we might be good for a pat.

Room Tip: Ask for a terrace room.

We stayed for a couple of nights to allow us to visit Oradour and Limoges. From the moment we arrived until we departed the service was exceptional and very friendly.
Our room overlooked the lawns and lake. The food in the restaurant was good and again the service was of the highest order.

We spent one night at this hotel, whilst in the Limoges area. We were pleased to be upgraded to a room with a stunning terrace view across the lake. The room was comfortable and decorated in a boutique chinoiserie-style. The bathroom was spacious, clean and well-equipped with bath and separate shower. However, having stayed in other Relais & Chateau hotels, this room was a little disappointing and a little overpriced.

We arrived as the temperature had taken a sudden drop and the staff promptly responded to our request for some heat in the room.

The restaurant was the highlight of our stay and served a most enjoyable degustation, with wines recommended by the knowledgeable maitre d' and the food served by friendly and professional waiters. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the lake.

A little piece of heaven. Having stayed the night before in a not-so-wonderful chateau, arriving here was like walking into paradise. We had a lovely suite with French doors onto a private terrace which opened on to the most gorgeous parkland. Everything was perfect: the accommodation, the ambiance, the eclectic style mixed with beautiful antiques, and the food, by the chef/owner. A commendation from The White House sits in the reception hall, says it all. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: A suite with a terrace is worth the extra money.

You really can't fault the food here, it's simply perfect. As good or better than some of the top London restaurants we have been lucky enough to have frequented over the years. The staff here are also to be applauded. Professional, friendly and in tune with us the customer. Slightly concerned that our dog Annie may have disgruntled the owners dog George by not being up for a play, but not much we could do about that. We will be back but perhaps a weekend "sans chienne" so George will be safe !

May God and the Michelin hear you for the great compliments you make about our food...
The Chief and the whole team work to provide our clients with a simple though generous cuisine, made of local products as much as possible. We try to give also an answer to clients with restricted menus such as veggie and to make very old receipes to find a new life.... thanks again. we're looking so much (an so does Jorge) to welcome you with or without Annie...
kind thoughts
