We had our first experience of the new Owen's restaurant a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed a first rate breakfast. Today we returned with 3 generations of our family for a celebration meal on a Friday evening. Seated upstairs this time, which we found cosier and warmer (carpeted) than downstairs. Greeted warmly without unnecessary ceremony and shown to our table by a pleasant chap who took time to point out the specials. We had a variety of dishes including fish and chips (small and large), lamb shoulder and duck. All were perfectly cooked and served. We followed up with a mix of desserts, including a generous sharing platter, and all were obviously home cooked and tasty. Portion sizes are just right. Icing on the cake was the guest ale, Steam Plate bitter from the nearby Irwell Works Brewery, my favourite beer!!
First class modern English food in a pleasant setting. No edges, no silly frills and lovely staff. We'll be back.

Found Owens via Trip Advisor looking for a last minute booking. I hadn't realised the previous Thai restaurant had closed.

All in all Owens provided a pleasant Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy but not too crowded and overall a nice atmosphere. Very clean.

Food was well presented and very tasty. There is an option for small or large portions, however the 'large' mains (chicken strips & open fish pie) weren't particularly generous.

Reasonable prices - £55 for 1 bread starter, 2 mains, and 2 desserts, plus wine.

Looking forward to returning.

We have been a couple of times now for breakfast, it's just what Ramsbottom has needed actually in terms of a decent breakfast at a reasonable price.

Full English with choice of eggs, coffee etc.

Also like that you can select separate items to combine the one breakfast.

Service has been excellent the few times we have been for Breakfast.

Visited on a Saturday evening at 7.30, 4 adults and 3 children. Downstairs was full and so our table was upstairs and there were a couple of large family groups already dining. Very relaxed atmosphere as everybody was enjoying themselves but I agree with another review that it may be a little too noisy for some people. For us it was great and everybody enjoyed the night.
Owners used to run a pub so they know what is popular and there were a number of dishes I could have chosen but decided on the lamb shoulder which was lovely.
Great choice of food, large portions, modern presentation, very reasonably priced ( including the wine list !) what could be missing.
Staff were great and the service was quick even though they were busy. Asked for a doggy bag, for the dog, and a special thank you to Sophie who crafted a large swan out of silver paper to wrap up the meat.
We returned a couple of days later for lunch. ( Owens is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner)
and had the triple decker cub sandwich which has to be the best sandwich is town. We sat downstairs and the large glass windows mean there is plenty of light and even though they were catering for 50 covers it was quieter with most tables being for two or three people.
Owens ticks all the right boxes and its a place you can go with friends / family and really enjoy yourself. Thanks to you all and see again soon.
