I recently relocated back to Angmering village after many years in New York City and am so pleased to have had a fantastic meal at my "local" pub today. Arrived to find the place packed on a Sunday at lunch time and was seated immediately by a warm and friendly staff at a table reserved with my name in it following an online reservation.

We received menus and a wine list within minutes and placed our orders for roasts- one lamb and one beef. Every waitperson made service look effortless and the food was absolutely some of the best to be had in Sussex. Both the lamb and beef were melt in your mouth, roasties were fluffy on the inside and crispy outside. Yorkshire puddings were perfectly stretchy and crunchy.

This is a kitchen that is producing interesting and delicious food at a top level, and is well supported by a friendly and capable front of house staff.

Bravo! Can't wait to come back again.

Booked in advance. Table ready immediately with our name on it and a nice welcome. An impressive start. The Sunday menu had plenty of options including for the grandchildren. My son and I ordered the roast beef. After drinks and bread the main course was brought to the table in about the right time and it came with a range of very nicely prepared vegetables all included in the price. The beef was truly superb. It was the best traditional Sunday lunch we had had in a long time. We weren't able to enjoy a pudding or coffee as the children became restless but I am sure it would have been good. A really enjoyable family meal at a reasonable price. We will book again.

Have only visited the Lamb to eat out 4 or 5 times but each time the food and service has been wonderful! My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary on Fri 1 st December and ate from the Xmas menu - we ordered the roast turkey and the short rib of beef both of which were very tasty and then the chocolate marquis and lemon and lime posset for dessert, which were both fantastic! Our meal came to £63 with a good bottle of merlot which is probably slightly more than your average pub grub - but this is not your average pub grub! The food is all freshly prepared with quality ingredients (I know this as my son used to work in the kitchen here!) and the service here is friendly, unobtrusive and efficient even though it was a very busy Friday night! The dining room is elegant and has a good atmosphere - and was very tastefully decorated for Christmas!

Another fabulous lunch, excellent food and friendly efficient service. We have now been here at least 6 times in the last few months and have never had a bad meal. Good quality ingredients cooked to perfection. We all tried the braised short rib of beef...best ever...really superb. Although generous portions we were greedy and had puddings as well! Really truly delicious.

Once again a truly British pub experience, Fantastic beer London Pride and the best salt beef sandwich I have had in years. Lovely pub never disappoints, it exudes tradition and just looking out the window evokes a century gone by. Not to be missed out if your in Sussex.
