We stayed for three nights in order to visit family in nearby Yeovil and spend some time touring Somerset and Dorset. Our room was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast served in the conservatory was a delight. The hotel stands in it's own grounds in the quiet village of Ash. The location is vey convenient for the A303. Can recommend this delightful hotel.

Just spent three nights here and really enjoyed the great hospitality and relaxing atmosphere in this charming village hotel. Well situated with ample parking and a well-stocked bar (esp. if you're fond of the odd dram or two).

This is a very quiet relaxing hotel. Gordon the owner and Gordon in charge of supplying a wonderful breakfast both helped to make our stay very pleasant. The one sad thing was that we were not able to eat our evening meal in the restaurant because the chef had left and there was no one to cook. We were made to feel very welcome, we shall be back back.

Room tip: we stayed on the first floor and have no complaints.

Stayed here for one night when our chosen hotel was fully booked.
Good points comfortable bedroom and good breakfast.
However on arrival :-
(1) was told evening meal no longer available as chef had left! Hotel advertised as restaurant on site
(2) decided to have a drink in the garden which was overgrown and not tended to looked very tired and uncared for
(3) garden furniture cushions covered in bird droppings and furniture very tired impossible to sit on
(4) not worthy of £100 a night cost
(5) subsequently discovered property is on the market
Sadly not the experience we expected could be much better
Would not stay again

Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked your room and our breakfast which is almost entirely locally sourced. Unfortunately we did have a problem with the kitchen and we suggested a number of places locally to eat. The garden is maintained weekly by our gardener but I am sorry if you did not appreciate the mature style of the garden. Our garden furniture is deep cleaned every spring and we try to ensure that the cushions and tables are regularly cleaned, I am sorry if we had missed your table, the plethora of birds are a wonderful part of the garden but they do make a mess!

Thank you for your constructive criticism.

Kind regards

This hotel is a beautiful and characterful. The proprietor was very welcoming and charming. We had a small problem, but he sorted it out promptly and with great panache, for which we thank him. The grounds were large enough for our cocker spaniel to have a good run around on her extendable lead. This is a very dog-friendly and comfortable hotel which I can highly recommend.
