The sea view is about as good as it gets - on arrival the man at reception looked like he really did not want to be there. The room was clean but tired, the bed was uncomfortable & the noise from adjacent rooms made sleeping difficult

Stayed: September 2017

Stayed here a couple of years ago and loved it however a second visit left us disappointed the rooms are in need of decoration and appear shabby and somewhat neglected , beds was very uncomfortable on the plus side nice friendly helpful staff and a great location hopefully next time the rooms will be modernised

Just a short break on south Kent coast, good location right opposite the sea front.
As other reviewers have said do not expect 4/5 star, however, what you do get is pleasent and honest. A lot of money has been spent on front of hotel, very nice two tier seating, for alfresco drinking, eating, or just enjoying. Bar and reception area also very friendly, as we arrived a three piece band was playing, apparently this is a sunday regular spot, judging by the volume of people also very popular.

Breakfast was very good, and although we did not sample it, the lunch and evening menu also looked interesting. A quick mention here for the staff, who we found to be
helpful and extremely pleasant.

Downside, the rooms appear to be a little dated, and an armchair or similar would be much appreciated, works carried out on front areas of hotel need to be followed through to rooms and rear of building. Never the less, for the price, and a nice balcony with view, the staff and the food, i think for the prices charged for an overnight, or short stay, great value for money, we enjoyed it. Bye the bye, the lift is a nice extra, helpful to less abled people,as per my wife.
.

Room Tip: we chose a room with balconey at front of hotel, slight amount of road noise, but more than compensated for with the sea views.

Have been trying to get to eat and drink here for some time. Eventually managed this and was not disappointed. Good menu and great food reasonably priced too, will definitely go again. Good celection of wines with a lovely sea view.

Really nice, simple hotel. Don't expect 5* standards, but what you get is enough to have a Lovely, quality time.
Restaurant is nice, good food.
I'm not sure if having a carpet in a dog friendly hotel is a good idea, but that's not my say.
Staff friendly and helpful.
The only problem is the parking - quote a big pain in the bum, as hotel itself doesn't have a parking so you have to find it yourself, along the beach.

Overall a really nice place, will be coming back
