We chose this as a base to visit Chester Zoo as we didn't want the hustle and bustle of staying in the city centre. What a fantastic choice this turned out to be! Lovely warm welcome on arrival spotlessly clean rooms and a beautiful view from the window (room 2) The food was fabulous highly recommend the home made pie, good choice of ales and all reasonably priced. Breakfast was amazing and all local produce. Loved this place and will definitely be returning. Only disappointment was we couldn't pick it up and take it back to Birmingham with us!!!

The Jug has had a really good revamp. The new outdoors area will be great in summer. The service is always spot on. The food is value for money and very tasty. We always enjoy a good welcome and a good meal

Went for a Sunday evening meal, there were 4 of us. We each had something different and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My liver was delicious, beautifully tender! Maybe I could have done with more veg, but what I had was lovely!!

Stayed for one night and enjoyed everything about this place. We had a large comfortable bedroom which had recently been fully refurbished including the en-suite. The room was spotless and attractively decorated. We had evening meal in the pub which has a good atmosphere and found the food to be very nice. There is a good choice for breakfast which is eaten in very pleasant surroundings. All staff were very polite and provided good service. We hope to return again in the future.
