Really good size rooms. We got twin rooms and was enough room and bathroom was big. The reception for tv wasn't great but we stay in hotel to explore not to watch t.v. so didn't bother us. Positioned well near beach and by a few shops. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming

Stayed one night with my family. Nice clean rooms, excellent parking facilities. The breakfast very nice, even made scrambled eggs for my daughter. Nothing was too much trouble.
We had rooms 2 and 6 very clean, entrance after 11pm is up the rear fire escape, very novel. Good central location, short walk to British rail.and all local amenities

Stayed 2 nights midweek and was suitably impressed...a little gem.The room was very nice and comfortable and extremely good value . The staff too were brilliant and very friendly ..refreshing.The hotel is close to the sea front / beach where you can take a lovely walk . The train station is only a 5 minute walk away and trains to Liverpool run every 15 minutes..xmas shopping completed , the reason for our stay!
The breakfasts were very good ..anything you wanted , cooked( any combination) or otherwise. We did eat in the restaurant on one evening ,wide selection of fare ..again we had no complaints .Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend/ use again.

Arrived Friday evening and found ample parking, bar staff very friendly and check in quick, showed to room and facilities explained. I had a twin room which was very spacious with clean and fully functional ensuing bathroom, plenty of towels and soap. Nice to see they provided bottled water and biscuits as well as tea and coffee. Bed clean and comfortable, room quiet. This is quite an old pub so the stairs and passage way are narrow and a bit creaky. It was an exceptionally cold night when I stayed but the room heating was more than adequate, they even had an additional convector heater in the room but this was not needed. Breakfast was included in the price and the cold selection was only a few cereals and fruit juice with self service tea and coffee. I was asked if I wanted a cooked breakfast, there was no menu or apparent choice so it was either yes or no! As it materialised the cooked breakfast was very nice, a single fried egg, sausage, bacon rasher, mushroom and a few beans with a slice of brown and white toast. Not sure if I could have asked for any variation or if, other than cereal, veggies would have been catered for?
The location is excellent for beach walks and is a lovely part of the Wirral. Overall, for £55 it was excellent value for money even if checkout was a bit long given lack of staff. A minor point, I shall stay again.

Friendly staff, great price, good breakfast, basic but comfortable and warm room, ample parking, close to town centre. did not eat in the main bar area but food seemed standard pub chain menu. Bar was fairly quiet at 22;00 on a Tuesday night
