We have eaten several times at The Greyhound Inn.
The food is fantastic and is all home cooked to order.
The Sunday roast is worth a try
They have a good range of local ales and a good choice of wines and spirits .
The staff are friendly and helpful .
So if you like good home cooked food and real ale this is the place to visit.
To avoid disappointment book a table .
They also have several letting rooms which are always busy .
Oh and they have a large car park .

Just come back from a 2 night stay at this lovely place. The room was more than adequate for our needs, 2 people and a dog. It even had a little tv lounge as well as the bedroom and en-suite facilities, we didn't expect that!!!
It was comfortable and clean.
We ate in the Inn the 1st night and found the food lovely as was the great breakfasts the following two mornings.
The staff were great, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them and the owner Liz was so helpful and friendly.
Would definitely come and stay again it was home from home and great value for money.

Visited here in November, the room was beautiful and much nicer than the pictures show. Clean, warm and comfortable. Staff were lovely.
Location is excellent for exploring around Coniston and stunning views.
Excellent get away for couples and the bar food is good quality and inexpensive. Loved the thick homemade chips.
Will be making this inn a regular weekend get away .

The title of the review sums up the problem with our family visit to celebrate a Golden wedding occasion. Very disappointed with the steak and ale pie's while all the other freshly cooked meals were very good. The cost representative of the Lake district in general for both food and drink.
Speaking with the owner on the telephone the next morning and explaining that while not being overly satisfied with the pie's and being totally shocked that no vanilla ice cream was available, her response was that as a small business, running out of various dishes is sometimes unavoidable.
I personally find this to be a strange response particularly in the case of vanilla ice cream which is something that is very easy to keep and needs to be available when requested by children.
