We stayed locally, and our meal here was expected to be the high-light of the week. It was good, but a little lacking in the wow factor I had hoped. For some reason they had lost our booking, which when they showed me the book they keep the reservations in, was no surprise, because it was a mess! And their English was not great to help sort things out. They fitted us in, but it wasn't a good start. The second disappointment was the fixed menu. I do like to have some choice, and some of the dishes were not things that some of my guests would have chosen. Again, our waitress didn't have the English to help us out - and I know that I should have had better French. The food was good - but there wasn't a "wow" dish, so at the end of the meal i felt a bit short changed.
