We had stayed previously at a St. Austell hostelry and were impressed so we took the opportunity of a couple of nights here with a similar result. We were met at the bar reception area on arrival, handled in a very friendly way and assisted to our room. This was a decent sized chamber with plenty of space, en suite bathroom and all the mod con facilities. All was immaculately clean and the room well serviced. The large double bed proved comfortable and the room was quiet even though it was on the ground floor fronting the main road. Breakfast was included and this comprised a wide choice of cereals, fruits, cordials and well cooked fare. On arrival we quickly made ourselves at home in the garden with a large G&T.
We followed this with dinner on 2 consecutive evenings. We were shown promptly and pleasantly to our table with drinks and menu. .On both evenings I took different fish based 'mains'. It was moist and well cooked. The mushy peas were a delight as well as the crispy large chips. My wife took the pate and then the baked ham. She expressed disappointment with the ham finding it lacked flavour although she found the veggies good.
All in all it was a good couple of days which we will repeat.More
