“Charming location, charming cottage”
Reviewed 23 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

My wife, young children and I have just enjoyed a lovely stay at Cosaig. The cottage is cosey, well-fitted out and enjoys lovely views of the neighbouring hills from the back and front of the house.

Considerable thought and care has gone into making the place comfortable and convenient - toys and games for the kids, good beds, plenty of hot water, a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. Quick broadband too - ideal for internet radio while making myself busy in said kitchen.

I heartily recommend Cosaig.

I can't say enough to praise this cottage, it was a "home away from home" Innerleithen was the perfect location to visit for scenery and accessibility to beautiful towns and villages in the surrounding areas. On arrival we had a gorgeous welcome pack which was gratefully appreciated (eggs, milk, butter, bread homemade flapjacks and homemade doggy biscuits for the dog) to top it all we had a full fruit bowl and lovely fresh flowers Everything you could possibly need was in this cottage, fantastic for disabled and wheelchair users with a massive wet room. Small children no problem, pets no problem, lots of stuff provided for them, in the cupboard in the hall, high chairs, baby walker, travel cot, bed matts. Towels and blankets for the dog. Kitchen so well equipped there wasn't anything I could think of that I needed. The lounge has a large dining table, bookshelves filled with all genre of books if like me you forgot your kindle. a Wii for those of us who love games. TV with Free Sat, and a docking station for your iphone so you could have music if you wanted.
Walks in abundance Glentress being extremely popular and beautiful scenery.
Food in the nearby Corner House Hotel was beautiful, I had fish which was so fresh and my partner had Chinese both of which were gorgeous, hope you have a good appetite as the portion was enormous. We then discovered a wonderful restaurant about 4 miles down the road from where we were staying Bony's. The warm welcome and lovely settings made this a must for anyone in the area. The front of house manager was so attentive and friendly you would think you had known him for years. The food was to die for, I had fillet steak and my other half had Cajun chicken . I was in heaven it was perfection on a plate, I wish I lived nearer to it as this would be my regular food haunt.
My only complaint was we didn't have longer, 4 days were not enough, I will make sure I stay longer the next time. I will return to Cosaig as Jennifer who owns the cottage knows how to treat her guests and knows what we need, nothing was too much trouble for her, she even offered to pop round if needed and was available on the phone at anytime if we had a problem, which we didn't!
I can't recommend this beautiful cottage enough, the pictures don't do it justice you have to actually see it to believe it.
Thanks to Jennifer for making our stay a wonderful experience. We can't wait to return, who needs to go abroad when you have beautiful places like this to stay in and beautiful scenery that Hollywood can only dream of.

Gosh that was such a lovely review you had me blubbing! Thank you so much for taking the time. It really is greatly appreciated, and lovely to feel our efforts are worthwhile and I will pass on your comments to the Corner House and Bony's who will also be delighted. We very much look forward to having you to stay again so you can get a chance to explore a bit more of the local area. Jennifer :-))

This was certainly one of the best cottages we ever had. Very 'gezellig' and warm. Everything you could possible need was available. The beds were very comfortable and two bathrooms is very nice with a family with two children. There is much to do and see in the neighbourhood.

Cosaig is a lovely cottage it is very clean and has everything you need just like'home.' The little touches such as tea, coffee, milk, eggs etc is a good start when you have travelled a distance. The basket of local goodies including wine, apple juice and flapjacks certainly were enjoyed by all. We thought the fresh flowers were also a nice touch. The area is pretty and there is plenty to do if you enjoy walking, cycling and have children who like the play park and enjoy playing with a football. It doesn't matter if your not as active as you can take a leisurely stroll. If you want to go further afield such as Edinburgh, Peebles or over the border there is a good bus service.
