This was a great place for your own space. You get a lounge, kitchen, bedroom, ensuite, bathroom. We backed onto the golf course, which was really pretty.
The room is really modern, and comfortable. We made use of DVD player so it was like a cosy night in that we are used to, if we wanted it.
It was a bit cold in these weeks for the plunge pool outside. perfect weather for golf though.
The restaurant maitre d asked us what we'd like and made it for us the next day !
Drinks arent so cheap, as is the case for the whole island. you can have what you like in your room from the supermarket, so you can spend as much or as little as you like.
There is a free shuttle to ils aux cerfs. Fantastic beach there !

This hotel really is great for golf. we got a complimentary buggy and the course is great for dlivering sandwhiches/drinks to you. Very pampered !

Will go back with our new twins !

We spent 2 happy holidays here. Our criteria were a superb kids club first and foremost, and a bit of luxury for the adults. We found both here.
The OurSpace kids club is amazing. We felt supremely confident that both young girls were safe, in spite of the youngest having a disability, which staff did not bat an eye at. Other 5* hotels do not accept children with disabilities or allergies at their kids' clubs.
Accomodation is beautiful, modern and fully equiped. The self catering option was handy at 6am when hungry kids awoke!
On the downside, the sea seemed a little uninviting, staff were lovely but unmotivated and the place was almost empty...

This is an unusual place but it worked for us.

The quality of the resort is stunning as described already in other reviews.

The challenge withthis place is it is very quiet and lacks atmosphere (5 to 10% occupancy when we went) both day and night but it depends what you want. If you need to meet others on holiday over drinks in the bar this isnt for you. If you want to recharge, do your own thing in luxury surroundings then its great.

We went over to ile au cerf 3 or 4 times and it took less than 10 mins - stunning and makes up for anahitas beach which is poor. The sea at anahita is dark and dreary not classic indian ocean as one would imagine but ile au cerf does have that.

We had lunch and dinner at the 4 seasons a few times and the food was great. in fact we ate most of our evening meats at the four seasons as it had a little more atmosphere. You could just sign for your meals there and they added it to your anahita account which i liked.

The golf was stunning and free - i played twice and loved it - the course was quiet which was nice. In another resort this could easily be £100 to £150 per round which is a huge saving if you like to play a lot.

my one year old loved the giant tortoise by the 9th green!

My family and I (adults both 42 years of age, 19 year old and 8 year old) stayed here in August 2011. I would generally write reviews immediately upon return and only recently realised I'd not done so for Anahita - and the last review I read prompted me to do so.

We have travelled extensively over the years and until now our favoured destination was the Bahamas - but no more.

We flew first class from London and the first thing to note is you shouldn't be wary of Air Mauritius. Their flight service outbound and standards in general were much better than Air France first class (return). It's a long flight and the extra cost started the holiday off nicely and Anahita ensured it continued in style.

The trip from the Airport (I'll not attempt to spell it!) is a long one along the coast through small villages. I think it took us about 45-50 minutes which seemed longer because of the nature of the small windy roads you're on at times.

Upon arrival we were greeted with professionalism, courtesy and our cases were transported to our apartment on a golf buggy - which we were then taken on. In fact the golf buggies become a feature of Anahita service which I'll get to later...

On walking into our apartment we were stunned. They are huge. They're not just huge, they're finished to a high level with double basins, high quality toiletries (my wife would remember the name, I can't) and every facility you could possibly want. Connecting to WiFi (I had to stay in touch with the office unfortunately) was seamless.

You'll have no complaints about space, the gardens are ample, you have lots of patio or balcony room, loungers, and outside table and chairs, lighting options, exterior blinds to cover the patio area and so on.

The fridge was well stocked, there was tea, coffee, biscuits, etc and the whole ambience of the apartments is far in excess of that which Anahita tell you of. They're first class in comparison to most across the globe - and in size they're unequalled in our experience.

Upon exploring the resort you'll immediate pick up on the air of tranquility and the fact you won't be worried about overcrowding because many of the apartments are privately owned so the resort is rarely full as their owners may not be there.

Anahita isn't a haven of activity but that's not what you go for. What it is a haven of though is the best service levels from staff we have ever encountered. Management are to be applauded and staff can't do enough for you. From Curvin at the bar (and the others whoses names I can't recall I'm afraid) to Jessica serving drinks to you as you sit at the pool - they're all outstanding.

Never before have we been made to feel so welcome - genuinely welcome. An endless supply of drinks or snacks poolside is backed up by a plethora of cocktails in the evening, usually conjoured up by the bar staff and brought to our table for us to try because they'd monitor what you drank and try to create something 'new' for you.

The food standards were superb, as was the service in the restaurants. Mind you, you should get breakfast in your apartment at least once. The staff will bring you more than you could ever consume, set the table for you, get everything perfect, even start to serve you and ensure you're comfortable - and then they'll come and coilect everything afterwards.

Our 19 year old flew back to the UK for exam results after a week and the restaurant laid on a special 'going away' meal. Flower petals around the table, candles on the floor, menus wrapped in leaves, nothing could have been better and made her wish she wasn't going! The effort is noticeable and was sincerely appreciated.

Yes the beach is man made but I don't really see the issue when you have a boat ready to take you, in 3 minutes, across to Iles Aux Cerfs where you can enjoy spectacular lengths of beach and the most astonishing views of the Indian Ocean. The proximity of Anahita to Iles Aux Cerfs is not to be underestimated. You get free boat trips to it and it is one of natures truly outstanding places of beauty. The water quality needs to be be seen to be believed.

We visited the nearby Four Seasons, a much revered nearby resort/hotel, and to be perfectly honest we felt we'd chosen well! It didn't have the feel we got from Anahita and felt much more 'hotel' like in every respect - and the service levels, whilst good, simply weren't on par with Anahita.

After our evening meal we'd go to the bar and relax chatting to bar staff. If you wouldn't normally find yourself doing that...neither would we because we've struggled to get people to engage in genuine conversation sometimes - but these staff are different. We talked until closing almost every evening - at which point they wouldn't entertain the thought of us walking the 5 minutes back to our apartment. Instead, they'd get a golf buggy for us and ferry us to the door. Every night, without fail.

They'd shake your hand every night, give you smiles that could fill a lifetime of holidays and they made Anahita the best holiday we have ever been on.

It gets breezy and we weren't there in peak season for Mauritius, so if you're going in August we warned that you'll get 26 degrees at best and a good few rainy days - but in a resort like this and with trips aplenty you won't suffer for it.

On that note, we took various trips, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We'd strongly recommend that you book a taxi around the island. We did through White Sands and Dennis our driver could have easily been trained by the resort! He was one of the nicest people we've ever met, chatted throughout the day and took us everywhere we wanted to go and gave us hints and tips along the way. He even stopped at a local supermarket en route back and came into the supermarket with us to ensure we were fine! I can't commend him enough. Take a helicopter trip too - you'll appreciate the beauty of the island much more and the views of the coastline and stunning colours of water will take your breath away.

We went to the Sacred Lake, Chamarel, the Colours of the Earth, the wildlife park with the crocodiles and turtles (sorry, I've forgotten the name) on various trips and one thing you realise is that Mauritians are a people of a genuine nature. They're just like you'd want your perfect neighbour to be. Polite, genuine, pleasant and they want you to go away having loved their island.

So, from reception to the restaurants, bars, security staff (they're always there on a night and you feel very secure in-resort), boat staff, etc - they were all perfect in our opinion.

As a resort itself Anahita has a fantastic golf course, free bike hire, tennis, and you can even get a free snorkelling trip every day. You do need beach shoes for the children in the pool as the base does have some sharp edges, but they sell those at the shop on site and we'd normally do that anyway.

We're about to book our holiday this year and having just moved home we can't afford to spend quite as much this year so we'll have to give Anahita a miss - but we'll be back without doubt.

I hope the same management and staff are still there because I can't think of anything to make a holiday better than it already was.

10/10, and one of the few resorts that claims to be world class and genuinely is in our view.

Well done.

we went here in december 2009 and even if the room was nice and we have a good time we won't come back.
The service was not good, the people need training and they don't make any efforts to understand you.
The beach was small and artificial, and after such a long trip you expect a nice beach...
The food was not very nice either. The only really good thing was the sports and the gym.
The room was nice but there was always something missing and they really have a problem with ants. We also saw one night a mouse running around....

The resort has since then (December 2009) experienced a thorough re-engineering and a repositioning in term of service and quality. The monthly guest satisfaction index now varies between 94% to 96% which is sustained by comments from more recent stays.
