“A place not to be missed while in Kaza”
Review of Sol Cafe

Sol Cafe
Ranked #1 of 1 Coffee & Tea in Kaza
Price range: US$1 - US$3
Description: In the heart of Spiti’s grand valley and towering mountains, sits the gorgeous Sol Cafe - a cafe with a cause. Sol was started in 2012 by a bunch of passionate volunteers and has been run by volunteers ever since. Today Sol cafe has become a must visit place in Kaza, a lounge for travellers to meet, exchange stories and plan their travels while enjoying great food and music. More importantly the Café is a space that links every traveller to Spiti, enabling them to support various causes and initiatives in the villages of Spiti just through what they eat or buy at the Cafe. Its warmth comes from its selections of teas, brilliant coffees, delicious sandwiches, handmade chocolates, rum balls, waffles and fresh bakes. The cafe also has a terrace area and a comfy back room with beanbags where we host movie nights every day at 6pm. Come join us and spend an evening at Sol for some soulful conversations over a cup of warmth.

One of the best cafes in Kaza. It stands alone on the road with bright colored walls inviting you in. And once you are in an array of colors greet you. Starting from the Honey ginger lemon drink to pancakes to homemade chocolates and sandwiches..>Everything is superb and worth a try..Also, if you have time then catch up on the movies or some board games....

The cafe was adorable, and I personally loved the wishes on the ceiling. I made one too. The food was more or less average, we ordered the sandwich and a few other things but the Banana Chocolate Smoothie Bowl was just epic. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought about it for a long time afterwards <3
The volunteers are very pleasant and patient as well, and the cafe has some cute souvenirs for those interested in picking up a few.
