“Great place to stay”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Great cottage - sleeps 4/5 comfortably. Must have been recently refurbed - looks great inside and out and toasty warm. Solid fuel stove kept the place warm throughout. Location is quiet and peaceful, but with a few pubs & shops less than 5 min drive away. Tullagh Bay Beach is incredible and about a mile away - could be walkable in the good weather.

Owner John was hospitable and friendly. Definitely will return!

“Wonderful cottage!”
Reviewed 23 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Stayed here 3 nights over St. Patricks weekend with my three small children and couldn't have asked for more! Beautiful, traditional and clean Mia's cottage is situated in a quiet, rural area with two wonderful beaches nearby. Unfortunately the children were sick and we didn't go too far but the cottage had everything we needed and it was lovely to just curl up with the large stove roaring. The children loved it, particularly the swings and slide in the garden and I felt safe to let the out as the cottage was down a lane away from traffic (not that there was much traffic in the area!). Thankfully the morning we were leaving everyone felt well enough to explore a bit and it was a beautiful crisp day so we headed off to the waterfall and beaches. Would definitely return and have already recommended it to friends!

“A perfect getaway set among the rugged, scenic Irish countryside”
Reviewed 3 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

The wood stove was lit for our arrival and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. The setting is perfect with beaches on one side and mountains on the other. There are villages close by to stock up on essentials and a couple of pubs in case you feel like getting out for a pint. The cottage itself is very clean and cosy and has all the modern conveniences. Perfect for a couple or small group of friends who want to get away from it all for a while.

“Lovely unspoilt part of Donegal, great cottage”
Reviewed 18 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I had a business report to write and needed some peace over a long weekend to get it done. I booked Mia's Cottage on the Inishowen peninsula, County Donegal and it turned out to be a perfect choice. It would be hard to fault the cottage - John and Dolores, the owners, have done a great job in restoring it whilst still retaining an Irish farmhouse feel. It has a wood / peat stove with oil central heating backup making it very cosy at all times. The area is beautiful with hills sweeping down to the seashore - it seems to be a good place to walk with a number of guided trails and, at some point, I shall go back with my wife to do some walking there. There's a pub called the Rusty Nail nearby which does decent food and, apparently, has good music during the high season. The village of Clonmany about 3 / 4 miles away also has a number of pubs, food takeaways including a Chinese and a good sized grocery store. There are good local taxi services for those who like a pint. I took the Sunday off and drove the 25 miles or so to Derry - one of Ireland's most historic cities and well worth a visit. Phone reception isn't great and there's no Wi-Fi at the cottage but there is good Wi-Fi at hotels at Ballyliffin and at various other local spots. I recommend it.
