My fiancee and I stayed at Dakak Park for three nights beginning May 22. We booked our room through a travel agent versus a package from the resort directly. When we arrived at the airport there was a young man with a Dakak sign and we said we were staying there and he said he would arrange our transportation. I asked him how much that cost and he replied it is included. When we arrived at the hotel they said the charge for transportation was $40 USD so I was a upset that the man had said there was no charge at the airport. Our room was very basic which was fine, but there were ants in the room and my fiancee was bitten 4 times in bed by the ants. Also the shower drained very slow so water tended to rise as you took your shower. Finally, eating options are very limited since there are only two places to eat. That in itself is not that bad for a 2 or 3 day stay, however most people would like more options if you choose to stay longer.

We had a travel package and stayed at Dakak for a night. It was an 8-hour travel from our place to Dipolog City. We arrived at Dakak Beach Resort 1 PM. We really wanted to settle and take a rest considering our long travel, but unfortunately there was no room available even though we already had paid for our reservation days before the trip. They made us wait for more than an hour. The staff in the reception area did not accommodate us well.

THE ROOM: We stayed in the Family Pavilion Room (Dormitory Type). The Room was clean. What I didn't like about it were: (1) the room was too far from the pool and beach area; (2)the air conditioner in the room cannot be adjusted; (3) and very little water was coming out of the shower.

THE DINING EXPERIENCE: We had a plate-in meal for dinner. The chicken barbecue served was under-cooked. The waiter serving the food was not systematic. Other guests who came after us were served first. We waited for minutes before we got our food.

THE SHOP: the items were overpriced..

THE BEACH: not what i expected. I thought it would be one of the best beaches in the country but it was disappointingly dirty.

THE POOL: the best part of the resort i guess. :)

It would be my first and last visit to the resort. I wish they could provide training to their staff and they should do major maintenance and clean-up especially the beach.

I am my fiancee took a short trip to Dakak.
I found it very relaxing, beautiful and well kept. All the staff where very friendly and helpful, from the cooling welcome fruit drink at arrival to opening the dorm room when the key was missing, or helping to take some photos of me and my fiancee in the swimming pool.
We stayed in a dorm type sleeping room and the beds where nice and comfortable and with good comfort-room and shower facilities.

What can I say? Relaxing, beautiful, well-managed and well staffed. The swimming pools where great and the beach outstanding. If one enjoys drinking and dancing, there was opportunity for that and if one preferred quiet meditation there was place for that as well.

Much had gone into details such as the lights along the pathways that where excellently placed at foot level, giving you light where you needed it for your step, but did not glare in ones eyes obstructing the enjoyment of the dark night. And if one was too tired to walk up the hill to the dorm, a lift was offered by a staff that always was smiling and wiling to assist, what-ever the time of day or night.

I was amazed that the prices in the boutique there where very low, and bought a few nice indonesian batik shirts. Just as information for your financial planing, the drinks where a bit pricy in the bar, but its not always necessary to drink, and I guess they need to bring in the money somewhere: the trip and included board was very cheap, so there is no reason to gripe about the bar-tab. :)

Would I go again? Absolutely! Im planing to, and that time rent one of the bungalows, which looked very nice.
Would I recommend a stay at Dakak? Without hesitation!
Id say its a cheap way for people like me ("average Joe") to experience some luxury for a few days. :)

I was in Dakak this Wednesday May 17 with my relatives. The only thing I don't like is the service, they really have a bad services they don't have a good customer service. We have dinner in your dinning and took 45 min to get our order, I already finish 2 mango shakes but our food still not in our table. The dinning area is not even full. When we use the pool and ask towels the pool guy told me they are out of towels and he's name was Julio's was very rude. ( the pool guy) in my room the phone is not working one of the bed too noisy. I been staying a lot of hotels and resort but this is the only resorts that very poor service.
the service at the Pirates Bar esp. To Julios the bartender and the rest of the staff at the pirates they are so nice to me and the rest of my family.

We went to Dakak just for curiosity. We had a very limited time, but we just wanted to see and experience the place. P500 is very expensive for this 2 hours or so experience but we went just the same, thinking that we could eat halo-halo or anything on the menu since it is consumable. We were aghast that we can only choose from a one-page menu with only 5 items/kinds of pasta to choose from. Drinks are not included. Anything we order aside from the 5-items will be billed separately. We felt deceived by the offer of P500 entrance consumable per person.
I ended up ordering coffee and tiramisu, since I did not want to eat pasta because we still full. It took them half an hour at least to serve that cup of coffee, and longer than that for the tiramisu. We had limited time and you could just imagine how we felt waiting for half an hour for that cup of coffee. The service was soooo slow and soooo bad, that we promised ourselves we will not go back there anymore.
