Our apartment was set at the the top of a hill above Laborie Village, so we had spectacular views overlooking the south of the island and was nice to wake up each morning to the sun rising over the Atlantic. We almost always got good breezes (occasionally a bit windy), so we didn't have any mosquitos and didn’t need to use the a/c at all. The apartment itself is quite large and comfortable with a separate living/sitting area and a full kitchen - which was a convenience. A supermarket is about five or ten minute drive away, in a plaza along the highway to Vieux Fort, and we also visited the Saturday morning farmers’ market in downtown Vieux Fort for fruit and vegetables. One of the best things about the apartment is that it is a quick drive down into Laborie Village (a quaint village where you will find a few convenience stores, bakeries, creole bread, some bars, local restaurants) and the pretty Laborie Beach which we visited often (used by both locals and tourists - safe, friendly, sandy beach). Also, given that the apartment is in the not-so-touristy south end of the island, we found it relaxing to be away from the busier Soufriere or Castries/Rodney Bay areas. This being said, it was only about a half hour drive to the natural attractions and restaurants in the famous Pitons area. As for the service, we found the owners of the apartments very friendly, accessible and ready to help if we required anything or had any questions. We do recommend renting a car/jeep to explore the island (and for driving up the hill to the apartment).
