One of the cheapest place to stay with a breath taking view of Fujisan in every room. Seems like it's the norm to serve 2 meals to every guest (breakfast and dinner) which are always plentiful. Staff is courteous and aimed to help even though they seem to be overwhelmed at times as the hotel serves a huge amount of foreign guests.

One night, I had the urge to drink sake and eat peanuts, like locals do, at 11:30pm and the manager behind the concierge desk helped changed coins for my 5000 yen note, brought me into the already closed cafeteria, switch on the sake vending machine and let me buy what I needed.

They also make it a point to wave off every tour bus leaving the hotel which is probably the epitome of that famous Japanese service culture that we hear so much about.

We stayed at Tominoko for one night during spring and we have wonderful mt Fuji view and lake Kawakuchi from our room. The big bath also very relax and again with mt. Fuji view for outdoor bath access.
We booked room included dinner and breakfast both meal are buffet style.
Dinner has variety of choice and delicious with bit more crowded as several tour groups stay here. Breakfast has less choice but still satisfy.
Thanks to hotel guy who drive us to station from hotel at our check out.

Room tip: Please specify room on the kawaguchi lake side for mt Fuji view from wonsow room.

Good: Mt Fuji view from room, buffet style breakfast and dinner

Drawback: Small and without circulation flow open air hot spring bath, no private hot spring, free wireless internet spot at lobby only, no safe/locker

Note: Low rate for sleep quality because one of the spring mattress had spoiled

=====================================================================
Hotel provide free pick up service from Kawaguchigo station. Do not feel is within walking distance. But location is good because all rooms have Mt Fuji view. However, the window cannot be opened.

Not sure if any convenience shop nearby. But vending machine selling cup noodles is available if you feel hungry after onsen during midnight. One thing to mention, main door of the hotel will be closed at 12 midnight.

In general, all staffs are very friendly and provide good service, especially the normal shift front desk staffs, who can speak English well. However, the early morning front desk staff never allow to change towel for me even I had mentioned mine was dirty. I understand that there is no manpower during early morning so I went to the reception and made such request, but still not successful. Slightly disappointed about this issue although this may be the hotel rule.

All rooms are standard type with 2 single beds, big and clean. There are special rooms on Level 6, which is not mentioned in their English website. The special room should have balcony, but couldn't find the rate for the room on its Jap website as well.

Black paints could be found on the wall and bed frames, suspected due to the damages caused during renovation. One of the spring mattress had spoiled but we discovered it too late. Had informed the staff during check out. He sincerely apologised and gave us some post cards as a token of appreciation. Hopefully they will fix the problem soon.

2 complimentary Mt Fuji mineral waters provided because we booked through their website. Crabs were specially served during dinner as well without extra charges.

Dinner (and breakfast) is in buffet style. Long serving hour so you do not need to rush back to hotel before 6pm. Quite a good variety. Highly recommend the super milky vanilla ice cream. Acceptable food quality although it may not be as high as those serving Jap style dinner set in other hotels. However this buffet is much more suitable for vegetarian.

Hotel has a souvenir shop. Handphone charging spot and pc with internet are available at the lobby (with charge). Free wireless internet spot is only available at lobby. The area is small but not much ppl using it during our stay.

Only public hot spring available. Big and nice pool. Has Mt Fuji view as well. It will be better if the window's glass is clearer. Open air hot spring bath is small and has no circulation flow, hence the water is slightly dirty as compare to the indoor pool. What a pity.

Overall, this hotel is a very good choice especially considering its room rate. There are another 2 nicer hotels just beside it, however price is at least double.

When you first walk into the room at the Tominoko Hotel at Fujikawaguchiko the view of Mt Fuji is breathtaking. The staff are very helpful and speak English.
The accommodation price is very reasonable and includes breakfast and dinner.
I would come to Japan just to ride the train from Tokyo to Fujikawaguchiko and stay at the Tominoko hotel to sit and watch the views of the sacred mountain especially with the Sumo wrestling on the T.V. It was fantastic.
